is it a bad thing to prioritise vs/tc apps over open days rn? my time off from work is finite and i’d rather prioritise vac schemes/interviews over open days? i’ve done some online events and met a lot of firms during uni last year, but i’m worried im putting myself at a disadvantage by not doing lots this year?!
This is not an issue at all - a lot of successful candidates will never have applied to or attended an open day and just have other evidence of their motivations and pursuit of the career.

Apologies if this has been asked and answered on the forum already but how should we go about answering "what other firms have you applied to?" and related questions about our application strategy in an interview? What are interviewers looking for in answers? Should we only talk about other firms that are quite similar in their practice area strengths/clients/trainee intakes etc.?

Would especially love to hear your insights on this @Andrei Radu @Jessica Booker. Thanks a lot!

Hi! I'm starting my SQE prep course (City Consortium Programme with BPP) in February 2025. I'm based outside the UK so I don't really know others starting their prep around the same time as me. Anyone here at BPP in the same course as mine, or with some other provider? would love to get in touch!! Also, I'm aware that it's too early to rent for February rn, but I'm looking for potential flatmates. Any leads would be appreciated :)

At least you got an AC I still haven't heard back from my original app. They said they would email me when there's an update, but feel pretty hopeless given people have already done an AC!!
Hey, i think people are still receiving video interview invites (second stage) for the WVS, so there's still hope. Fingers crossed for you :)

@Jessica Booker i have looked to book train tickets to an open day and the ticket prices are £200. 200 great British pounds ridiculous. I live in the UK. The email the firm sent regarding reimbursement states they’ll only reimburse up to £150. Is it best to decline my space on the open day. I have looked at flights which in itself is crazy seeing as I’m in England. Flights are £300.

I applied to King & Spalding’s in person insight day but was rejected (I applied literally on the night of the deadline so can’t complaint) - in their email they’ve invited me to their virtual one on the 16th. Do you reckon they liked my application but couldn’t offer me a place in person due to capacity, or this is a template invite they would send to most rejected applicants?
