Are we better off applying to DTC then, @Jessica Booker is that a safe assumption to make?Last few years they have cancelled their Vac scheme and offered direct tcs

I would just apply to vac scheme and see where it goesAre we better off applying to DTC then, @Jessica Booker is that a safe assumption to make?
I have heard that they made the direct TC offers to vac scheme applicants, is this right, and does this mean not advisable to apply DTC?Last few years they have cancelled their Vac scheme and offered direct tcs
Last year I failed all WG and SJT tests - this year I passed them all! What I did differently was to practice about 10-20 minutes per day for at least a month before taking any tests, rather than doing 1-2 hours solid prep the day before. To those of you that have got past the Watson Glaser/ Situational test stage
How does everyone prepare for the tests?
Which practice tests/ books have you bought to revise?
How do you go about preparation for situational judgement tests?
Hi @User5678 - it is just me in the grad rec team and in the week prior to the deadline there is a huge increase in applications - generally I will receive around 50% of applications in the seven days before the deadline. I read all applications from start to finish, therefore it can take some time to read through all. Some weeks candidates will hear back sooner than in other weeks - this is simply and only due to my capacity.Thank you very much, this is very helpful
Best of luck for your apps!
Congratulations!! Could you please tell me when did you apply at Weil?Weil, Gotshal and Manges VI and Mayer Brown Job Sim invites!!
This is really helpful. I think I mainly get stressed out with the time limits, as well as the often convoluted wording. Thanks for the response!Last year I failed all WG and SJT tests - this year I passed them all! WG tests - I used all the free tests (literally google WG practice tests or critical thinking tests and loads come up). I also made my own cheat sheet on one side of A4 - you can download others, but I found making my own more helpful as I could make notes to myself on areas I make the most errors.
SJT tests - honestly I found I just got better over time. I think reading as much as you can about what a trainee actually does (mostly admin) coupled with the firm's values helps you pick the right answers.
With the time limits, honestly the more practice you do the more confident you'll feel, so you won't even worry about the time as much! Best of luck😊This is really helpful. I think I mainly get stressed out with the time limits, as well as the often convoluted wording. Thanks for the response!
Thanks! I applied on the 5th of December!Congratulations!! Could you please tell me when did you apply at Weil?
I didn't even get an email saying they would get back to us today, but maybe my fault for applying the day before the deadline?Ok Skadden… Can you please get back to us already
Ahh I still haven’t heard anything from them- did you contact them to enquire or did they email you?White & Case confirmed something interesting. I applied for the winter scheme. Still under consideration for spring/summer.
Are you sure? Maybe check your junk / spam folderI didn't even get an email saying they would get back to us today, but maybe my fault for applying the day before the deadline?
Weil are definitely just reviewing applications in order. If you applied after the 5/6th December, I wouldn’t worry at allAlso still waiting to hear from MDR, and Weil!! Seems like most ppl on here have heard back which is exciting for them but demoralising for me!
