really helpfulAn applications webinar I went to that was attended by Weil Early Careers said that competency and motivational questions come up at both the VI and the face-to-face stage. From what I remember the general tips they gave was to have clear examples for competency questions, structure well (i.e., STARR) and don't talk about "we" in team examples - talk about what you did within the team.
Pretty general/standard advice basically but hope that helps nonetheless!
Second this!Mayer Brown job sim invite! I would be really grateful for any advice or insights on the job sim!
Hey, I applied to Willkie on the 9th and received a VI on the 12th.
can be between 5-15 days depending on how busy their grad rec is - i asked similar question and got that responseThank you! I should wait 3 days then, considering I submitted my app on a Friday![]()
Last few years they have cancelled their Vac scheme and offered direct tcsDoes anyone know whether Kirkland & Ellis primarily recruit from vacation scheme or direct TC applications? Unsure which I should apply for. Thanks

do not worry if you receive no response in 3 days - the application window shuts on the 20th so the amount of applications will be steadily ticking up over the week
Are we better off applying to DTC then, @Jessica Booker is that a safe assumption to make?Last few years they have cancelled their Vac scheme and offered direct tcs
I would just apply to vac scheme and see where it goesAre we better off applying to DTC then, @Jessica Booker is that a safe assumption to make?
Last year I failed all WG and SJT tests - this year I passed them all! What I did differently was to practice about 10-20 minutes per day for at least a month before taking any tests, rather than doing 1-2 hours solid prep the day before. To those of you that have got past the Watson Glaser/ Situational test stage
How does everyone prepare for the tests?
Which practice tests/ books have you bought to revise?
How do you go about preparation for situational judgement tests?
Hi @User5678 - it is just me in the grad rec team and in the week prior to the deadline there is a huge increase in applications - generally I will receive around 50% of applications in the seven days before the deadline. I read all applications from start to finish, therefore it can take some time to read through all. Some weeks candidates will hear back sooner than in other weeks - this is simply and only due to my capacity.Thank you very much, this is very helpful
Best of luck for your apps!
Congratulations!! Could you please tell me when did you apply at Weil?Weil, Gotshal and Manges VI and Mayer Brown Job Sim invites!!
