Hey! I had my interview with them for Spring VS 2 weeks ago, and they had said they still had another 2 weeks of interviews. (which makes me think this is the final week of interviews for Spring VS). In full honesty, at this point it's not looking super likely unfortunately, unless they do a final round of interviews if they don't have enough numbers for the scheme. They might send offers and rejections at the same time (hopefully next week) after all the interviews are over.

I will say I've applied to them in the past and their PFO came quite a bit later than I would've liked/ was needed imo, so in light of your situation I don't think it would be an issue to email tbh.
Thanks so much! Yeah, I will drop them an email, no harm in checking I guess

Hi Both :) Please could I get your opinion on this. I have applied for Withers VS (scheme week starts 17th March). I haven't heard back yet regarding the virtual video interview after the online test. I work full-time so I would need to know whether to take time off or not at least 4 weeks before. If I still haven't heard back by Friday, should I just drop them an email requesting an update? I want to send off an email today but I don't know if it's annoying for them lol

Withers finishing up Spring recruitment this week would fit as they’ve started offering interviews for Summer. I heard back last week with dates from Mid-Feb offered.

Interesting! 😅

I wonder if we can make a guess how many people were invited to the WE then! Anyone have a higher number than 20 for their slot?
They invite 20 on to the VS and there is a fourth stage (partner interview) before the VS. My guess would be that it’s more likely around 100 people who will be doing the WE but it depends on how many people applied this year. 🙂

I saw on the Willkie TCLA forum that the firm received 50% of its applications in the final 48 hours before the deadline. Seeing that a lot of people had an interest in Willkie, they may have received around 1,200 to 1,500 applications this year in total. 🙂

Hey everyone! Did anyone hear back from any of the following:

- Jones Day application form
- Milbank application form
_ White & Case Video Assesment
- Ropes & Gray
- Gibson

To be honest, it is so extremely annoying to not hear back for so long, because everyday I am looking forward to hearing back and it is just not coming. I am very happy to have found this community... good to know I am not the only one in this situation.

I did my W&C VI on Monday and haven’t heard back yet but it’s only been 2 days. I have seen a fair amount of people on the forum who have done AC’s but they sent their application much earlier. I applied 5th of Jan.

Ropes & Gray deadline was on the 31st so just under a week ago. I imagine we will hear back over the next few weeks. I think they have set assessment days which are on the website but idk them off by heart. Some are set for the end of Feb and others early March. 🙂

I have seen several interviews and SVS offers for Gibson Dunn. I Haven’t seen much for the other two firms listed (Milbank and Jones Day). Best of luck in this application cycle! 🙂

Dear @Amma Usman,@Andrei Radu and @Ram Sabaratnam,

I hope you guys are well and enjoying this sunny day.

I am trying to prepare for an upcoming written exercise, which is my weakness during AC.
I would like to ask if you could advise me on how to structure my thoughts in an organised manner without allowing my anxiety to take over.

How do you think I should organise my time when tackling the case?

Thank you in advance for your help.

@Jessica Booker I wondered if you would be able to assist with a query I have. How likely are firms to rescind an offer if you try and negotiate a salary? I have been offered a paralegal job somewhere where I really want to work (I have almost 3 years of experience as a paralegal) but it is a substantial pay cut to my current role. They told me at my first interview that I was the most qualified candidate who applied for the position, and it was advertised as a paralegal position for a recent graduate. It is in a niche sector I am really interested in so I chose to apply. Are they likely to rescind the offer and go with someone else if I ask if they can meet my current salary? Thank you in advance

I would say they probably won't rescind but also probably have a budget which they are prepared to pay so it will be down to you to take it or leave it. But if you don't ask you don't get so ask and see what happens.

Hi @Miss Chocolate when did you complete the VI? If at least three weeks have passed I would say it is definitely fine to email them. If not, given your circumstances, I still think it would be justified. Just make sure to properly explain the reason why you are requesting an earlier response. It is highly unlikely any recruiter would have an issue with you asking for an update because you need to know whether to take time off work.
