lol at freshfields' grad workshop literally a month ago they told us the application process is a simple personal statement - watson glaser - assessment centre process and I come on here to find they've randomly introduced the worst form of automated test where your application won't even get read if you don't pass. freshfields has always been one of my fave firms but this just sucks tbh.
can you elaborate what the automated test tests for?

Yeah almost everything I included in the two questions were things I didn’t mention anywhere else. 🙂

I just followed the advice I was given on TCLA because I had no idea how to start otherwise. 😭

Hoping for the best but seeing what people are saying on here I think I’m officially cooked. 😂💀
yeah honestly I dont even think it matters because they are looking for authenticity and whether it matches to their values, the way we approach it is up to us - at least, that is what I was told by a different law firm, and it was during an AC, but oh hey I think the principle stands

should I email the GR for HFW for an application that I sent a week ago because I just realised that the date selection table moved from August 2023 to August 2025 which clearly does not make sense especially given that time range is indicated as 1 month (which tbf should be 1 month and 2 weeks) or should I leave it be (or there is an option to provide supplementary information in the system), honestly I need to stop opening submitted applications

10 applications made

Reed Smith SJT + VI
Akin AC
Goodwin VI
Weil VI
W&C VI
Dechert Written Task
Willkie Written Task
CMS VI
Linklaters
HSF Test

Wondering if I should do freshfields? I missed Slaughter and May, A&O and Clifford Chance. I’m not sure what others firms to look at. I would like to stick to US.

I did my W&C VI early first week of Jan and have not heard back since, have any of you got news about AC or not heard back yet? Curious to know was WC is a priority firm for me. I have also seen threads they are absolutely the worst when it comes to getting back to people.
They haven't gotten back to me post app. no test invite, nothing. smh

What automated test?
"If you are applying to our trainee associate programme we have introduced an online psychometric test, the Law Online Assessment to further enhance your experience."

"This is a blended assessment that measures your skills, behaviours, preferences and cognitive ability. The Law Online Assessment will give you insight into the types of problems Freshfields is trying to solve and a realistic job preview. It’s designed to be user friendly and easy to complete."

sounds like they're not making vs applicants do it though
