Anyone heard from Dechert post AC for WVS or HFW Spring.
Others have for Dechert (people early on with offers and some later with rejections) but I’m still waiting too. Weird as some people who did the written task but not AC yet have been told WVS is full and asked about being considered for spring instead. I’m planning on contacting dechert in the morning

@Jessica Booker @Ram Sabaratnam @Andrei Radu
Got rejected at from DLA piper which stings because the AC was actually quite fun and I liked the firm. Moving on, would you be able to give me some advice on whether you are supposed to filter in firm specific facts about, Eversheds Sutherland for the application questions.
1)When have you worked in an ambitious goal?
2)When have you delivered a piece of work where quality was an important factor?
Absolutely no need to reference anything about the firm in these two questions!

Quite a lot of firms use the "do you have an internal contact at X firm?" on their application, and I'm just wondering what actually counts as an internal contact. E.g. if one of your close friends from secondary school or university is currently an associate, but you haven't spoken to them in several years, would this be an internal contact? What's the purpose of the question?
The general rule is “is this someone who knows you well enough that if you called them and said, hi it’s Jess Booker” they would know who you immediately without any more context.

The purpose of this question is to avoid them being involved in the recruitment process.

Hey guys, I am applying for a TC position at Hogan Lovells and the final question on the application form is:

"Tell us about any open days and events that you have attended in the legal sector. (Max 250 words)"

I have attended a couple of open days, but neither of them have been at Hogan Lovells. Could you please provide some guidance as to how to respond to this question?

Many thanks!
Include any events - they don’t just need to be Hogan Lovells events. Try to maybe highlight the key parts of the event that may have particularly helped drive you towards Hogan Lovells though or helped develop your transferable skills for a career with them.

For instance, if a presentation was on the the energy sector, even though it may have been with another firm, you could then connect this to Hogan Lovells expertise in this sector.

Hi - How to answer this question, what do you guys think they are looking for? Apart from integrity and answering yes. Like in terms of details of decision and elaborate on your choice.

Did you seek assistance from ChatGPT when completing this application? (Please note that there is not a right or wrong answer to this question, we are focusing on your integrity to this process). Please provide details on your decision and elaborate on the reasons behind your choice. {Provide answer of 2500 characters}

Hi, just to clarify, have you been invited to an AC and they have said that the AC will be for Spring, not Winter? Or everyone still waiting to hear back from the written task has been contacted and told they will now be considered for Spring? Thanks!

I have my AC tomorrow for the WVS and am now worried I'll be disadvantaged if most, if not all, slots have been filled..!

They are looking for balance. That you are open to using such technology but are not relying solely or too heavily on it and understand maybe the checks and balances you need to do if you are using it.

Oh that’s weird that yours is tomorrow! I had my WVS interview a couple of weeks ago and heard nothing since but someone here said yesterday that they’d received an email asking if they wanted to be considered for spring because winter was full - maybe they just meant interview slots were full!

Yes I did. Anything wrong with that?
Just bold. In the least blunt way - I’m not surprised they rejected you. They ultimately gave you a chance and you did not live up to their expectations. I think applying for a vacation scheme again is wild given that you already did one. If they have a direct TC route is say apply to that as many do go on to progress with a firm if they’ve been rejected post Vacation scheme just never heard of getting another one. Seems like a waste of a space someone else could utilise

I don't necessarily disagree with you. It's just that they didn't have a policy of not permitting someone to apply against after a VS (unlike some firms) and I was just trying to see if it's at all possible. Also I am in belief that this also applies to ACs as well, at least to some degree.

Also that firm doesn't have a TC route.
