Any1 still waiting on Dechert post written exercise or HL post WG for WVS, or WC sure why I can’t either be rejected or moved on. Could they be considering me for spring/ summer?

I submitted my CC app and there is a horrendous typo (half a sentence is missing). I received the WG link and it says that if I don’t complete the test before the deadline, they will withdraw my application. Does anyone know if you can reapply in the same cycle after your application is withdrawn by failing to complete the test before the deadline? Would really appreciate a response as I doubt GradRec would be sympathetic

I don't think it will work that way unfortunately as they will have processed your first application on some level and therefore it will have been considered. I think if you reapplied, you would be automatically rejected for a second application within the same cycle/for the same vacancy.

I think looking at the wording of the question is really important here. It’s not limited to just artificial intelligence—it also says or other technologies. So, think about any tech tools you’ve used, even if they’re not advanced AI systems. It’s less about using the most sophisticated tech and more about highlighting how these tools helped enhance your personal development or productivity.

I'll also add that although the term 'technologies' is ambiguous, because of its association with "AI", I would assume it does not refer to everything and anything digital. Rather, I think it's likely it is referring to some of the newer developed technologies - I would not go further back than 4-5 years. As such, online courses might not qualify.

However, I don't think you should worry too much about this question if you already have two examples. Many other candidates only write about using Grammarly as a review tool, so you should definitely be fine.”

I mean how many more could you realistically apply to without just applying without any specific sort of firm in mind? 12 is enough in my opinion.

It’s not fixed.

I met multiple vac schemers during my internship who applied to 70+ firms. I’m not exaggerating. They only managed to get to 2 ACs. Bear in mind if you follow that approach, you’ll be applying for firms across the spectrum. From MC all the way to high street.

I see around online that 10 is the best. All my mentors have said the same. Many said you’re desperate if you’re applying for more than 30 and you shouldn’t be.

I strongly think you shouldn’t be desperate - you should be able to do something outside of law. It shouldn’t be your only career choice for the time being, no matter how passionate you are.

I think it’s best to apply for 10 - 15, focusing on a solid 10 you’re happy with and an extra 5 you use as back up if the cycle is not in your favour. After that I apply for different types of roles, some linked to law, because I can’t be waiting for a handful of positions forever.

It will come when it does. Applying for more, imo doesn’t help your wellbeing in the long term or massively improve your skillset as an applicant.

1) I don't think you have to compare firms but I do think you have to be specific in why the firm is different to others you have applied to.

3) No - I don't think they need to be connected, but it won't be an issue if they are at the same time.

HL rejection. Ridiculous. I submitted a great application. I assume I passed the Watson Glaser given the lack of reason in the email. I do not know what these firms look for. I’m happy to compare my HL answers with anyone via DM.

Everyone process rejection quite differently. After I didn't connect Ropes & Gray? I ran for Islington council. I also stood for Chancellor of Oxford University. Some escapism I had going there. Still, whatever works for each individual. Good luck everyone.
