Hiya @tarty23

I'm sorry about the rejection - it might be difficult to appreciate this now, but it's not a reflection of what you can do and your ability to get a vacation scheme/training contract. Keep going!

In terms of feedback, many firms are simply unable to offer any at the written application stage due to the sheer volume of applications they receive. If they have stated in their email that they cannot offer feedback, then I'd avoid sending an email to them making such a request.

That being said, it's worth emphasising that your application could have been rejected for a variety of reasons, including factors outside the quality of your own application. This is something I tried to remember even when I'd given an application my best effort. Whenever I'd receive a rejection, I also tried to give the rejected application another read through to see if there was anything I might have missed or whether there might be any area that could have been improved. I always encourage applicants to do the same after a rejection. Feel free to ask any questions you might have on the forum about particular application questions, and we'll try our best to offer helpful advice :)

Best of luck with the rest of your applications!
Appreciate it! Thank you.

Goodwin open day invite, is it online for everyone? They originally said that they would invite unsuccessful candidates to participate online, but the email says i've been successful and that they've made the "difficult decision" to move it online. Basically I want to know whether they're lying to me 😅

I would assume it means GCSE or equivalent because it is phrased as an eligibility question, meaning that if you selected "no" you would probs get something telling you to withdraw your application/that you cannot apply. Then again, maybe the opportunity is just for UK graduates?
That's also what I was thinking, I just wanted to double check to make sure! These apps make me stress about the tiniest details 😭 Thank you so much for answering quickly :)

I did graduate uni in the UK and have a right to work here as I have an English passport, I just didn't go to an English school. It would be a bit weird to not accept based on GCSEs even though I did an degree in the UK no?

@Jessica Booker any thoughts?

I got the invite and was told it would be online due to train strikes. I don’t think it’s a case of not being successful enough for in person as they would have probably said in the email that they would like to move you specifically to the online one.

I also got an invite to their open day, but yesterday. For me the email said that there is potential for rail disruption so they'll keep under consideration whether to hold the day online. I received an email today saying they've moved it online.

They're not lying to you, and congrats! :)

Has any1 heard back from Dechert? I did the written exercise two weeks ago and haven't heard back. Also waiting to hear back on WVS from W&C, HL, Covington and Ashurst.. I feel like no news at this stage is bad news
Hi, firstly congratulations on getting the written exercise stage for Dechert and same here I haven't heard from HL,WC, Covington so I think its pretty standard. If you don't me asking I have my written exercise for Derchert coming up is there anything you could share about it. Was it a case study exercise , did you find it challenging ?

Thanks for confirming! I'm pretty disappointed it's online but oh well I guess it's something
