For anyone who confirmed their Open Day attendance for Debevoise - have you guys got a “confirmation received” acknowledgment? I didn’t reply to the allhires mail but directly to the senior recruiter’s mail that was in the email.

I did the same and havent had to follow up email yet. Just to confirm your email also contained:
- preference order
- head shot
- mobile number
- passport

Fwiw, I contacted them on Monday, as I realised I had been sent a VI invite but had not received it. They resent in and reset it yesterday, and I completed it the same day.
This would suggest the ACs are not yet finalised.
Was this for spring or summer? I applied back in October for the Summer VS but havent heard anything - have also checked the portal and no communication there either. Seen a few people getting VI's and AC's so unsure what to think!

This is quite scary considering they have got SVS offers from HSF and AG! I hope they aren’t like this in real life as well. 😞
It's frightening how differently people behave when hidden behind the cloak of online anonymity.

I believe that requiring users to display their legal name would make a difference. The Times online recently implemented a similar policy, mandating that users show at least their last name and first initial. I have noticed that since this, the number of unacceptable (racist, misogynistic, classist etc) comments under articles has dropped significantly.

Maybe you could initiate something similar @Jaysen @Jessica Booker

if i got a tc after my spring scheme, does anyone know when i would be enrolled for the SQE? (i’m a final year law student btw) are you required to take a year out or is that not necessary
You should speak to your firm about this - some will say to do the SQE ASAP and then take time out afterwards, but other firms will say the opposite to ensure the knowledge you acquire is as close to your TC starting as possible.

But there can be some quirks that make firms say you should take time out before starting the SQE, especially if you are an international candidate who will be on a student visa for the period of the SQE prep course.

I think most people aren’t like this though in that despite them having an anonymous forum name, they do not go out their way to be nasty to people under the guise that they can get away with it. 🙂

If people go against the TCLA guidelines, then perhaps something like this could be initiated. I think people on this forum are generally really nice tbh. 🙂
