I think they have to - make sure to check their early careers FAQs as that's usually where it's noted or at the very least you'll be asked to get in touch with grad rec to discuss reapplication.

I feel like I've heard enough credible stories to have a suspicion that many firms treat a subsequent application more harshly (that's not to say it's impossible to get in), even if their FAQ page states "you are free to reapply"

out of interest what other firms have this policy (that you can't reapply after having been rejected)?

Travers Smith! If you get through to an interview you are never reapply - I am not sure if thats route specific though, i.e., you may be able reapply for a DTC if you interviewed for a vac scheme

I think you cannot apply for a direct TC. From Travers Smith's website:

Can I reapply if my application isn’t successful?

If your application is unsuccessful at the application stage, then you are eligible to reapply.
Unfortunately, if you attend an interview or vacation scheme and are unsuccessful you are ineligible to reapply.

They do have a direct TC option! check this link: https://www.traverssmith.com/join-us/graduate-recruitment/application-process/

As a re-applicant, I can confirm that I have never made it past the application stage for firms I went to assessment centres with :/

I've just applied, so doing their blended assessment asap:)
Hiya I did mine a while ago, but I remember it being the cappfinity style SJT+Critical Thinking+Numerical component type test. There's also a case study component where you have to write a note of advice, as well as 2 VI questions that were motivational + competency (I think). But you can log in and out of the platform and take as long as you like with the case study/VI questions. So, I wouldn't stress too much.

Hi Everyone! I hope you all had a nice Christmas.

Would you say that 730 words is too much for an unlimited answer to this question: "Personal summary: Your personal summary is your opportunity to summarise your key skills and achievements and include positive words that describe you as a person. Highlight the roles you have held and your key achievements to date. Avoid anything that narrows down your options too much unless you are only applying to very specific roles.".
There is only one other question about interests and hobbies, also unlimited, and my answer is 240 words, so I'm a bit worried about the unevenness in my answers.
My main thing is I've added a paragraph about "why the firm" for the first question, after recommendation from my university careers, which is an extra 150 words, but I don't feel the question actually asks that. (But there is no question about why the firm anywhere else in the app).

The application details state "Please complete all sections of the application form as thoroughly and accurately as is possible. Once you have completed your online application form, and have met the minimum criteria, you will be invited to complete a short 60 second video interview to support your application." So I am wondering if the VI is semi automatic, and there will be a question on why the firm there?

Any help would be really appreciated! @Jessica Booker @Ram Sabaratnam @Andrei Radu @Amma Usman

    Thank you!!
