How many days you had from the day you received the interview for JD to the actual interview?Interview with Jones Day
May I ask when you submitted the application?wilkie pfo - great start to the cycle 😔
I found the two minutes was really not a lot of time I’m not really sure what they wanted us to include in this1.
Why do you want to become a commercial lawyer at A&O and what do you think are the key skills and qualities required for success?
2.Tell us about a challenge you have faced. What are the skills you used to overcome that challenge and how are they transferable to help you with a career as a lawyer
6th septMay I ask when you submitted the application?
I’d be surprised if any of the Big Four recruit trainees this yearIs anyone able to find the deloitte legal graduate scheme dates? They have already opened the applications for audit and tax.
I think another way of looking at the second bit of the question is ‘what events, webinars, open days etc. have you attended. Who have you spoken to? How did that interest you?’Hey! I'm currently writing an application but am struggling with the latter end of this question: 'How did your interest in commercial law develop, and how have you built your understanding of this sector/industry?'
I am pretty comfortable with the first limb of the question. As for the second part, I'm not sure if they're looking for me to list resources that have helped me build my understanding of commercial law or if they're looking for other specific things. What would they be looking for here? SHould I make mention of any resources produced by the firm?
Would appreciate your help with this @Jessica Booker, as well as anyone else!!

I don’t think you should assume that bc I’ve seen people getting rejected very quickly too so you don’t know until you know!Anymore Jones day interviews? I applied on the 8th, assuming a PFO given how fast they get back
Yeh they are. Spoke w their grad rec and they basically said 68 and above. That aligns w the fact they ask for a ‘strong’ 2:1.Is Jones Day very particular about high 2:1 or 1st?
So makes no sense to apply if the overall grade is low 2:1 and not excellent work experience or extra curricular activities. Is this true? @Jessica BookerYeh they are. Spoke w their grad rec and they basically said 68 and above. That aligns w the fact they ask for a ‘strong’ 2:1.
