    Clifford Chance Training Contract:

I attend their insight day so thought I’d share the timeline of the application process although it’s on the website this is what graduate recruitment stated. I hope to see less panic regarding this firm on the forum given the information provided answers most if not all timeline queries.

    20/11/2024 - Deadline

W/C 02/12/2024 - Video interviews will be sent, this will be sent closer to the end of the week than the beginning.

W/C 16/12/2024 - Those who successfully passed the video interview will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre in their London office in the last two weeks of January these invites will be sent towards to end of the week.

End of January - Assessment centres are taken place and you’ll hear back with an outcome within 1-2 weeks.

    Extra information:
    1. All invites and rejections are sent at the same time to avoid rumours or uncertainty I ensured to ask this given the absolute mess most firms have been this cycle for their winter vacation schemes.
    2. Once you pass the application review and are invited to the video interview your application will no longer be a factor and it is merely based on your video interview and assessment centre performance.
    3. There is a cap on how many are invited to video interview and assessment centres. do not know what the cap number is.
Thank you for sharing this!! It's really lovely that they've been so clear about the timeline.
This is a bit of a basic question but could I just check if it's rolling or non-rolling? I'm not sure if I've understood the Extra Info Point 1. correctly but I think it suggests perhaps non-rolling?

DLA post AC rejection🥲 I don’t even know what to feel 🧍🏾‍♂️
Keep your head up ! The fact that you made it to the AC means that you have more than enough potential ( as they are SO competitive) . Honestly I’ve been there ( trust me ) and it’s best to firstly , try and do something to keep your mind off it , something that makes you happy . And secondly don’t let it stop you from either applying again next application cycle or put you off law altogether. Your vacation scheme and Training contract will eventually come! Have hope 😊

I cannot believe that I've done this, and put it down to lack of sleep and too many things going on at once, but I have just applied to a scheme that I am not eligible for instead of the one that I am. I even knew this, I just got mixed up between firms I have been looking at. I have emailed grad rec but I suspect all those hours and days into that application have been for nothing. This is a reminder to everyone to double check they are applying to the correct thing. 😭

I’m sorry this happened - but you shouldn’t give up or be too hard on yourself. It’s difficult to even get to this step so be proud of that. Sometimes it just comes down to luck more than anything else.

Do they give any feedback on what you can work on or improve?

In my experience grad rec is usually chill about this, they'll likely just change your selection of schemes

Thanks a lot!! Yh I’ll just distract myself haha. And I still have other applications that I haven’t heard back from anyways.

Yh I’ll be scheduling a feedback call so that should be helpful for next time!
