HEY, it's my first time posting on here. I am hoping to get a quick response as the matter is a bit urgent. I am applying for the Hogan Lovells Winter Vacation scheme 2024. They recruit on a rolling basis and their applications close on 31 October. I am nearly done with my application and plan on submitting it tomorrow i.e. one week before the deadline. Is it worth submitting the application this close to a rolling deadline? or should I instead apply for the summer vacation scheme as it has the same application but deadline is in January? I would prefer to apply for the winter scheme but I am afraid most places might be filled/ progressed to the next steps already.
Yes definitely submit it, I have had success with late applications for 'rolling' firms in the past.

I haven’t heard of HL progressing anyone past WG yet for WVS anyways so go for it

Has anyone received a rejection from Ashurst post case-study? On the other hand has anyone received an invite to the final stage interview post case-study? I havent heard back from Ashurst and im taking it as a rejection as they said they would get back latest yesterday....

Be grateful you made it to that stage some of have not heard post test. I’m sure they will let you know in due course.

dont get me wrong, im very grateful. Its just frustrating as they first said by Friday they will let us know, then moved it to Monday, and now its Tuesday and I still havent heard back. Also, with Ashurst they tend to not tell you that you have been rejected.

Understandable. They haven’t given out more written exercises recently so they’re probably deciding. All news will be given by the 08 November. Realistically you’ve got a better chance of a place than those who have not heard at all.

I'm confused with DLA - I was informed about passing their WG last Monday but I have not received an invite to the VI. I know they were supposed to shortlist candidates again based on who-knows-what ahaha, but many received VI invites last week. Should I assume they didn't like my application?

does anyone know, if i fail in applying for the linklaters open day, can i still apply for the vac scheme?

it says you can only complete the capp online assessment once per cycle, and I've really not found time to prepare for that or the watson glaser. wondering if i'm better off just not applying for the open day, and preparing more for a vac scheme application
Hey just wondering did you end up applying for the open day?

It is generally not a good practice sharing VI questions. Simply because a lot of the firms re use the questions for other candidates or maybe even next recruitment cycle :)
It affects the integrity of the process. Obvs types of questions etc is allowed! Good luck!
Do you mind if I ask what the question was? No worries if you don't want to say it!

Thats interesting, as the email i received regarding an update post case-study states they will be conducting final stage interviews this week and next. Anyways I guess we'll have to wait and see
