Has anyone received confirmation for the Hogan Lovells non-law open day? No app required, they just said they'd be allocating places on a first-come first-served basis and was wondering whether anyone has received confirmation
Thanks for clarifying!I got the same rejection!
The first para thanks us for completing the assessment, and the second says we successfully completed the test.
Based on this, my reading of it is that we passed the benchmark for the assessment, but were not progressed through to interview based on the written application.
If you've finished it and the deadline is the end of the month, submit it? Can't win the lottery without buying a ticketHEY, it's my first time posting on here. I am hoping to get a quick response as the matter is a bit urgent. I am applying for the Hogan Lovells Winter Vacation scheme 2024. They recruit on a rolling basis and their applications close on 31 October. I am nearly done with my application and plan on submitting it tomorrow i.e. one week before the deadline. Is it worth submitting the application this close to a rolling deadline? or should I instead apply for the summer vacation scheme as it has the same application but deadline is in January? I would prefer to apply for the winter scheme but I am afraid most places might be filled/ progressed to the next steps already.
As in getting ChatGPT to write out your answers!?Does Covington allow the use of AI in their application form?
Not to write them out but edit and improve the flow of them.As in getting ChatGPT to write out your answers!?
Isn't that just what reading and reviewing ought to do? 🥲I'm getting oldNot to write them out but edit and improve the flow of them.
thanks for the reply! I understand what you mean but also I am thinking if submitting for the summer vacation scheme would increase my chances of progressing as the deadline is much farther away?If you've finished it and the deadline is the end of the month, submit it? The deadline will always be short for winter. Give it a go, then move on to your next applicationthanks for the reply! I understand what you mean but also I am thinking if submitting for the summer vacation scheme would increase my chances of progressing as the deadline is much farther away?
Makes sense! I will give it a go, thanks. The deadline will always be short for winter. Give it a go, then move on to your next application

Thank you, this is very helpful. It's a 'good friends' network with Macfarlanes, 'best friends' is Slaughter and May. They can choose any firm they want - this is the advantage over having an office there. Plus it's an acknowledgement, I think, of the other firms' expertise e.g. Slaughter and May has worked with Paul, Weiss. Source: I tried saying 'best friends' network to a Macfarlanes Partner.
