Hi! Was this for Spring or Summer? I was wondering whether there is a chance they are reviewing spring scheme applications first 😅Weil WG! They must be reviewing apps at this moment because I applied less than an hour ago 😦
Hey Guest, do you have a question for graduate recruitment? Gemma Baker from Willkie is live to answer your questions!

Thank you so so much! This is incredibly helpful! For the situational strengths tests, I researched the key attributes of a trainee and what Mayer Brown looks for specifically, as the strengths tested are usually part of the firm's essential requirements. Also, I would say just think carefully about each scenario and be authentic about how you would actually react in each scenario, rather than trying to guess what’s expected.
For the verbal reasoning tests, sometimes reading out loud helps as is actually taking time to understand the points/questions rather than just guessing.
- Hope that helps
I haven't heard anything either but I applied on the deadline :/Anyone here who has still not heard from Skadden post app? Starting to lose hope that the outcome will be positive
Haven't heard yet either and applied end of NovAnyone here who has still not heard from Skadden post app? Starting to lose hope that the outcome will be positive
Thanks so much Jessica! I mailed them yesterday and just waiting to hear back now, thanks again! These things happen. They are likely to check whether it’s just a reporting error and if they can see your test score first and if not, they are most likely to just reset it and ask you to take it again.
Contact them ASAP to see what they say.
Thank you! @Jessica Booker What If I was addressing it to a law firm though so for example Dear Clyde&Co, ?It’s not that if you know the firm’s name, it’s more whether you are naming an individual by their name - eg Miss Jessica Booker. Then it’s “yours sincerely” if it is Dear Graduate Recruitment or Dear Sir/Madam, then it’s “yours faithfully”.
It is 'Yours faithfully' still as you still do not know the recipient's name, just their employer.Thank you! @Jessica Booker What If I was addressing it to a law firm though so for example Dear Clyde&Co, ?
Sorry to hear that! Was it the structure that threw you off?well.... not sure that telephone interview with Skadden could have gone any worse if I'd been planning on bombing it
long pauses, topics I clearly knew nothing about, and then not thinking out loud at all - urgh!! and just zero response or indication from the interviewer either way, I would have been laughing if I were him 🤣
Then it would be yours faithfully, as you don't know the individual person's name you are addressing it to.Thank you! @Jessica Booker What If I was addressing it to a law firm though so for example Dear Clyde&Co, ?
Thank you very much!!! TCLA is the best <3Amazing news - congratulations!
Starting to think this “rolling/non-rolling” stuff doesn’t actually matter…Weil WG! They must be reviewing apps at this moment because I applied less than an hour ago 😦
Hi! Yes, this was for springHi! Was this for Spring or Summer? I was wondering whether there is a chance they are reviewing spring scheme applications first 😅
It really depends on the firm what non-rolling means so you would have to double check with grad rec. Some firms who are 'non-rolling' still screen on a rolling basis, meaning you will get moved through the process before the deadline i.e. sent psychometric testing and be invited to VI but will not offer any ACs until after the deadline. Some interpret non-rolling strictly and won't even look at your application until after the deadline has passed.Starting to think this “rolling/non-rolling” stuff doesn’t actually matter…
Weil is rolling, some people on the forum have received ACs from what I rememberStarting to think this “rolling/non-rolling” stuff doesn’t actually matter…
