Applied the second week of December, had the AC last Thursday. One of the partners called me this morning.That is awesome! Congratulations

that's amazing - well done!! can I ask if you got a first in your degree? i got a 2.1 and got rejected from slaughters right away last year, just wondering if it's my grades or my cover letter that's not good enough

Currently engaged with the Pinsent Masons direct TC application blended assessment. Was hoping that before I undertook the 'video question' portion of the test I could get a steer on the kind of questions they ask here from anyone who has previously engaged with the application, historically or this cycle. Are they generally questions about your life and motivations for commercial law or more firm specific, i.e asking you to comment on the firms current work/ challenges?

I am keen to apply to King & Spalding's insight programmes but none of their dates work for me. Does anyone know if they will be at any virtual law fairs? How else can we build interactions with the firm?

They’ve been at a few virtual events this cycle. Legal Cheek fairs I think.
I also know that their open day last year was virtual. Might be the same this year?

Does anyone know which firms in Manchester actually take on a healthy amount of their trainees from the direct TC route? I can’t really take 2 weeks off for a vac scheme due to work constraints so don’t want to spend loads of time applying to firms when they don’t actually take anyone from the direct TC route
the AC was super intense -- the interview was over an hour long, and they really pushed me hard. It took about a month between my application submission and the AC invite

The vast majority of the firms on this thread do offer visa sponsorship and SQE preparation funding as well. If you have questions about a particular firm, let us know
Hi! I'm starting my SQE prep course (City Consortium Programme with BPP) in February 2025. I'm based outside the UK so I don't really know others starting their prep around the same time as me. Anyone here at BPP in the same course as mine, or with some other provider? would love to get in touch!! Also, I'm aware that it's too early to rent for February rn, but I'm looking for potential flatmates. Any leads would be appreciated
