Morning all, i received an email today from a firm I interviewed at over summer. After an assessment day I was rejected. As someone who accepted a place has now dropped out they’ve invited some of their previous interviewees for a follow up interview.

Do you know what I should expect? Is it just to check if I would fit in culturally or Will some of the other stuff covered in an AC come up?

Interesting dynamics because they’re potentially putting you through the effort and disappointment twice… is there a decent chance of converting to a TC?

I received a PFO from Linklater's WVS... am I eligible to apply for the TC?
You can but you won't be able to retake the WG & CAPP test. For the direct TC, graduate recruitment mentioned during the Legal Cheek fair that you need to have substantial legal experience (they focus mostly on people with paralegal experience, not compliance etc), as they only offer a handful of direct TC's.

I have been invited to Bird and Bird AC. So far there is very little information about what the day might consist of. The email stated that there would be an interview, a timed written assessment, and a group exercise but no information about the tasks involved in each of these or the type of interview (commercial, competency ect). D

Has anyone done an AC at Bird and Bird or knows of what could come up so I can better prepare as the AC is in less than a week!

I have applied for the AO Shearman TC. I’ve been sent the SJT, can anyone give me any tips on it please, particularly the VI component? Do I need to prepare anything?

Thank you!

Hey, you have until the deadline to submit your VI answers; you can also see what the questions are and then log off from the platform to prepare.

This is interesting. I thought the MC firms offered significant places through the direct TC route

When asked 'what make law firm x stand out to you/ other firms you apply', would I just simply state what makes it stand out or would I need to link it to my own experiences and why this is important to me?

Has anyone done the first round interview for Travers? How long do they take to get back?

In their post-interview follow up it said “as soon as possible” which is really vague so I’d appreciate a more concrete timeline! Thank you!

Just out of interest how did your interview go? Travers is one of my top firms so that's why I'm asking!

You will need to explain why the factors you have identified are important to you. That can be linking it back to previous experiences but it can also be about talking about what is important to you in your future career (so more forward looking than a backward looking reflection of what you have done in the past).

I've applied to Mayer Brown, and read here that it takes some time to receive the tests- is it one or two? Do any have a VI section? Any tips/insights would be super appreciated!
No VI sections are within the test and I think they send them in a big batch. I few of us got our tests 29/10. But if you applied after that you’ll get them in the next batch of tests they send.
