Hey Guest, do you have a question for graduate recruitment? Gemma Baker from Willkie is live to answer your questions!
Is the WG sent after deadline day or shortly after the app is submitted ?Hey has anyone heard anything from Hogan Lovells TC applications
I haven't gotten anything so i'm not sure.Is the WG sent after deadline day or shortly after the app is submitted ?
Thank you SO MUCH! 😁 😁 😁 I really appreciate it!Congrats! I interviewed with them last year so I might be able to give you some advice.
I’d say right of the bat, make sure you answers are detailed. They really appreciate that - don’t answer your questions (especially motivational questions) the same way you would in a 2 min video interview. They want you to expand.
I was asked 1 commercial awareness question so I assume you will too. Again, go into detail, and expand on your answer as much as possible.
The interview was a really good experience though, they really try to reassure you and it wasn’t at all as scary as I thought it would be.
Make sure you are well read on the happenings in the firm/elements that set the firm apart (which add to your motivation to join the firm) - it will be very obvious if you haven’t done a good amount of research on the firm - as the questions tend to link back to this!
Definitely do some reading into the different practice areas/which ones you are interested in/why they interest you/ and what sets BCLPs training contract offerings apart from competitors!
GOOD LUCK!!!!
Are you working in the legal industry full time or other industries?Hi all, would really love some advice!
This is my third cycle applying and apart from getting to the final partner interview at a boutique firm have had nothing but rejections from dozens of firms.
For context: I’m mid-20s, working full time. I did my undergrad in law from a Russell group university, graduated with a 2:1 but averaged 2:2s for the first two years.
It quite depleting to have so many rejections and unsure whether it’s my module breakdown grades that are holding me back, the fact that it’s been 5+ years since I graduated or something else on my application form.
I would love to know whether anyone with a similar profile has had any success or what I can do to make myself look more competitive to law firms.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you!
No, working in data & consultingAre you working in the legal industry full time or other industries?
Thank you! I applied at the beginning of May and did the online test on the 16th of May.Hey, congrats! When did you submit your application and online test if you don't mind me asking? Thanks.
Maybe you could try and switch job to something related to law to show that you have more of an interest as I do think having any kind of legal experience may give you an advantage. Especially as they might be expecting it from you considering you graduated quite a while ago now?No, working in data & consulting
