Hey Guest, do you have a question for graduate recruitment? Gemma Baker from Willkie is live to answer your questions!
They’re also doing March interviews bc they haven’t reviewed all apps yet. I called them today. @Cambam15slaughters are interviewing until the 17th of feb.
I told the HR at Slaughter that I need to respond to another offer by 17th February so it would be great if they could expedite reviewing my application. They said okay they would get back to me ASAP - this was 10 days ago. They’re also doing March interviews bc they haven’t reviewed all apps yet. I called them today. @Cambam15
I don’t think there really is a typical amount - could be anything from a few days to a few weeks. Have heard of people waiting a couple of months. How long does one typically get to prepare for interview if selected for AC?
mine also completed and this has panicked me! is there any weight to this?mine just updated to 'completed '... might be a rejection since all of the previous apps I did also show as 'completed'.😢
Oh gosh that’s so stressful! I would give them another ring, they are nice about it and I’m sure they’d understand your worries!I told the HR at Slaughter that I need to respond to another offer by 17th February so it would be great if they could expedite reviewing my application. I do, but not specifically for Linklaters. Firms tend to either have a written assessment or some of the interview questions will be in the local language as well as English.I applied to Linklater's China-London TC and was invited to an interview to test my mandarin skills, but I don't really know what to expect or how to prepare. Has anyone else attended this, or anything similar? I'm unsure whether it is an actual language test, or a normal HR/competency interview conducted in mandarin.
Any insight would be appreciated! (@Jessica Booker not sure if you have any knowledge on how these international TC interviews operate?). Thanks!
Received mine as well just now. Saw some previous answers here on TCLA and apparently it's automatic. Your application and WG results will be reviewed together. But I wonder, if it were automatic why not just have it be completed with the application like other firms? Some other mystery is afoot maybe.Just received WG invite from HL for direct TC. Does anyone know if this is automatic or after reviewing the application?

They said they’ll get back to us at the end of Feb for WGHas anyone heard from Freshfields for direct TC?
For speaking, it can be anywhere from reading a BD-related passage on their website out loud (I did a few of these and passed) to doing a client pitch after reading a commercial-related excerpt. Make sure to brush up on your simplified Chinese comprehension skills - I can do both traditional and simplified but am more comfortable with the latter. If you're a Cantonese speaker, also make sure you brush up on phonetics (i.e., Bo/po/mo/fo) and verbal fluency which I know a lot of native Cantonese speakers struggle with as the dialects are quite different.I applied to Linklater's China-London TC and was invited to an interview to test my mandarin skills, but I don't really know what to expect or how to prepare.
