They must be monitoring this thread bc I just got my pfo lol.this is the email I received:
Probably, but I've not seen anyone get an interview for Summer here (not that the forum is representative of all candidates)I'm expecting that to be their mass pfo day, as they don't seem to have rejected any spring/summer candidates. Ugh this cycle has been TERRIBLE.
"I became too powerful, i had to nerf myself"ok, I may or may not be the stupidest person on this forum at this point I think 😂😂😂 Basically, I applied to Shoosmiths for a direct TC, and in the beginning you have to justify why you picked the particular location; so I explained why London.... As I started reading, I realized I started with: "I have chosen to apply to Farrer & Co’s London office because [...]" (because Farrer & Co had the same question, basically it's why London over other cities in the UK, so in my answer I didn't mention the firm specifically, but just what London means to me, but still stupid for not changing the name of the firm in my answer)... Such a stupid mistake that results in auto-pfo I guess😂😂 Thing is it's in the beginning beginning so not with the other main application questions, so I hope they overlooked it or something but I am actually so stupid😂😂😂
✨️For the beautiful northern accents obviously ✨️nah cos respectfully why would people take a 40k salary in the north over 100k for the job at the exact same firm in London (obviously I get that ppl may want to stay in the north but as a northerner myself I want GTFO and move to London esp cos it's busy and wayyyy more diverse - and the money is not bad either lol)
I love your optimism, but I'm just feeling so jaded by these rejections, I can't get myself to believe that.Probably, but I've not seen anyone get an interview for Summer here (not that the forum is representative of all candidates)
Hi, I just got a pfoThank you and congratulations on the interview invite.Sounds like the first of a two-stage process. In which case, it seems unlikely they'd progress other candidates, given their schemes start in a month.
Believe 🙏I love your optimism, but I'm just feeling so jaded by these rejections, I can't get myself to believe that.
Sorry to hear that, i got mine too.Hi, I just got a pfo![]()
DXB is a good option but you'd have to focus on your reason why. E.g it is a hub for transactional work in the UAE (so you'd have to make sure the firm is a transactional focussed firm rather than disputes focused) . although it is quite a concentrated city, many firms who have a presence in UAE are based in DXB so you'd have to again explain why. Perhaps it's to do with the clients they have being better served by a presence in DXB as opposed to another country in the UAE e.g Saudi.Hey all.
I am trying to prepare an answer for a question asking 'a location for a new overseas office'. I was thinking of Dubai and wanted to know if the legal landscape in Dubai is saturated or not?
Any help would be appreciated!
Just wondering why I haven’t got a PFO or this in this case… firms really love to ghost methis is what ropes said to me:
"We have now had the opportunity to select the candidates to proceed to assessment centre. Whilst you have not been selected, you have made the waiting list. Due to the high quality of applications we received, it is a great accomplishment to reach this stage. We would like to contact you and offer you a place in the event we have any cancellations for our assessment centre."
their wording indicates all ac spots have been filled imo
