I have a question, I just finished the Paul, Weiss (PW) assessment. I received an acknowledgement email that said they would be in touch in due course and if successful, I would be invited to a Virtual Assessment Centre. I don't know if that's the case for all candidates (I am applying from abroad). I would like to know if some are invited to an in-person AC. Thanks.

After procrastinating, I finally got myself to take the Paul, Weiss online blended assessment.

I managed to get high applied verbal intellect and high applied numerical intellect, which is good. Though, like others here, I'm not sure how to feel about my pillar scores of 6464 for grit, applied intellect, creative force, and digital mindset. I'm glad they're balanced, but I was sure they'd come back higher. Especially with digital mindset. Like, I watched a 2 hour video last night of an OpenAI co-founder building a large language model from scratch just because. You can leave the other scores, but I think I deserve a 9 for that 🤣 If anything, a 4 and the corresponding feedback feels insulting.

Ah, I'm just venting. That's just how these assessments go. I'm sure it's a work-in-progress. We'll find out more soon enough 😴

Did anyone else receive an error message when completing their Paul Weiss assessment? This was the last question, and I think it did not submit. When I hit refresh, it then took me to the closing video. do I email grad recruitment?

I would say contact grad recruitment because it should automatically go through once you click send. 🙂

@Jessica Could you please provide insight into how Amberjack SJTs are usually assessed by grad rec teams. Am I correct in understanding that firms would have a benchmark cut-off for each pillar, and then also look at your overall score across all the pillars? Because it seems like it’s impossible to score close to 6/7 in every pillar (9 being the maximum), as by selecting some answers you gain score in one pillar but inevitably lose score in another.

Thank you very much in advance.

You have a positive attitude though. I have actually given up before. Took two years off applying once. I feel the same way, honestly. But Freshfields is just one firm. They just have too many steps. Other firms get by with fewer. Good luck with your other apps.

feel the same, I did quite well last cycle, and have gotten nowhere this time, I'm bascially going backwards despite getting better, its mentally draining, but time to docus on direct TC's and other jobs....

Thank you guys, your messages remind that I've got a community here. Both of you guys get something important across - have a next step in mind. Whether it be focusing on TCs or keeping an eye on firms with shorter app processes, I'll make sure to come up with a reinforced app plan.
Wishing you all the best with your apps, you both are fantastic people - good things are around the corner.
