Willkie, WE invite! Ironically the only good news this week came from a firm I'm not ecstatic about training at.

just did the Trowers capp assessment. gosh was it long!
I’m working on an application at the moment and one of the questions is asking:
‘Why would you like to pursue a career as a solicitor at [x firm], and how do you see yourself contributing to the firm’s success?
Am I right in thinking this is asking:
(1) why law / why commercial law as a solicitor?
(2) why this firm?
(3) why me i.e., what will I bring to the firm?
Or is it to be interpreted differently? Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂🙂

For the VS, they have a few resources and tips on their website... They say this in their application process section:
"Interviews for the vacation schemes take place online virtually. The interview consists of a 50 minute interview with HR and a partner.
Candidates must do well in the interview to be offered a placement.
Candidates who speak a foreign language fluently may be asked to demonstrate this skill at interview."
Honestly, seems really nice and authentic, unlike recorded interviews... Should be easier and more confortable to speak to someone on the other side, ngl...

Congrats! Is ur interview soon? I heard they give you a choice of slots but I think that happened last year
Is the Fieldfisher telephone interview a phone call or teams call? Slightly confused as I thought it was a phone call but in the email it suggests its on teams and its camera on?
Hi, can you clarify if what you're saying about Akin sending all the test invites today was specified in the email? Asking to not discourage myself (and the others) ☺️
