As I look at the massive list of firms left for me to apply to, I am genuinely wondering whether it is worth it. I'm being a bit mopey about it all today but I hope that we all get what we want this application season. Merry Christmas everyone!
I honestly feel the same way. I want to apply to SH. Apparently I “need” more UK firms. But they use the Amberjack assessment. And I’ve never passed that test. So I’m not sure about applying. I don’t want a UK firm. US firms progress me more often. I want one firm for life. Call me old fashioned in that. 30+ apps in but noticing mistakes. A lot of them won’t progress. But it’s a numbers game, IMO. Only need some apps to progress. Still early in the cycle too.

I feel like what I've written might be incredibly basic after hearing what you guys have done 😭😭

Seriously try not to worry about this. I have seen people speak about what they have put for certain application answers before and thought well that's me out then only for me to progress to later stages and see that they have been PFO'd before me. Sometimes applicants can overthink things and a good old plain English correct answer written concisely and in less flowery language is better than one which may appear to be trying to be too clever and counts for more. Even the suggestions made on here are often not useful when someone explains what you should include but actually even one part of what they say would not even fit the wordcount!!

I received a report three days after completing the test if that's what you mean? It was neither a rejection nor an invitation to the next stage - strangely positive but very vague - or were you talking about an invitation to interview?
Thank you! Yes I received my report 3 days after the test, but I haven't heard anything since... and its been three weeks!

What stage are people's Linklaters apps on? Last year I got rejected at 66% (candidate review), but mine shows 77% progress with aa tick by candidate review.
I can't see a percentage, but mine is on candidate review no tick? I suppose it means they've reviewed your app, but are waiting to progress, maybe until the new year? Or at least after christmas?

I'm the same - 77% + tick by candidate review. It would be so lovely if we got a positive response this week :) Fingers crossed for us 🍀

Edit: Do you remember if you had a tick by candidate review last year?

I believe 66% is an automatic rejection.

77% you met the WG benchmark so it’ll be reviewed. I’ve was rejected at 66% last cycle but had 77% this cycle.
