I spoke to a member of GR a few weeks ago who said that they recommend submitting off the VS app! When I asked about when we can expect to hear back for Lift Off, Dec 20 was the date given. I'm not sure if that was the specific day we'll hear back or if that's just the latest date. Personally, I am thinking of waiting for LiftOff results but I'm still not super sure. 😊
thank you so much!

Rejected from A&O Summer Vac scheme after a 3 month internship at their Paris Office (which they extended because they liked me!).
I got a near perfect SJT and have perfect grades + double first at Oxbridge
Mad that there's not even any feedback !
That is insane that they didn’t give you feedbacks!! When did you complete your internship, and in what field if you don’t mind me asking ?

Just thinking about this - do you think it's possible that they wanted you to apply directly for TC given your experience? I can't see you not even making it to AC unless you made some sort of mistake in your application which I doubt you did. But for them to give no feedback at all is harsh af

Thought I’d share this for the CC Video interview invite. (They receive over 4k applications)
Clifford Chance Training Contract:

I attend their insight day so thought I’d share the timeline of the application process although it’s on the website this is what graduate recruitment stated. I hope to see less panic regarding this firm on the forum given the information provided answers most if not all timeline queries.

20/11/2024 - Deadline

W/C 02/12/2024 - Video interviews will be sent, this will be sent closer to the end of the week than the beginning.

W/C 16/12/2024 - Those who successfully passed the video interview will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre in their London office in the last two weeks of January these invites will be sent towards to end of the week.

End of January - Assessment centres are taken place and you’ll hear back with an outcome within 1-2 weeks.

Extra information:
1. All invites and rejections are sent at the same time to avoid rumours or uncertainty I ensured to ask this given the absolute mess most firms have been this cycle for their winter vacation schemes.
2. Once you pass the application review and are invited to the video interview your application will no longer be a factor and it is merely based on your video interview and assessment centre performance.
3. There is a cap on how many are invited to video interview and assessment centres. do not know what the cap number is.

“Thank you for your application for a place on the Gibson Dunn Virtual Open Day 2024. Whilst we were impressed with your application, we have received a significant number of applications and have a limited number of places available and we regret to inform you that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.”

i got this email despite applying 2-3 weeks before the deadline. did anyone else get this?

Hi everyone,
does anyone know how long is ideal for the S & C cover letter? I'm at about 950 words which I can squeeze into one page at font nine but it feels too long. They don't have any guidance on their website but considering what other firms like S & M say, surely this is too long?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Font 9 is too small - should be 10 as a minimum and ideally 10.5.

Try not to “squeeze” the letter in - the document should have appropriate spacing and sizing to ensure it is easy to read. If the document looks to crowded, you make it far more difficult for your reader to digest what you are reading.

Does anyone know how we are supposed to structure work experience details for Weil? I am fairly certain someone from the early careers team said that they wanted it in bullet points, but just wanted to check!

Thought I’d share this again seeing as everyone is super impatient for the CC Video interview invite. (They receive over 4k applications)
Thank you so much for this! It's very, very helpful to bear in mind.

May I ask if you learned anything about the actual format of the VI? I understand it's one of those 'record yourself' ones (as opposed to in-person) but I'm not clear on anything else. I'm not sure about if you have to film the video in one take and if we're given preparation time before seeing the question. If you have any insight into the format of the VI, especially the aforementioned things, I would really appreciate if you could share :)

I wouldn’t get ahead of myself assuming I’d get a video interview. Just wait until you get an outcome and if successful follow the instructions. You don’t need anymore tips beyond what the firm gives you.
