    Oh I see, thanks for that. Should we refrain from mentioning the possible merger in our application?
    I’d probably advise not focusing on it explicitly, just because it’s not 100% set in stone.

    I’m sure a brief reference to a future ‘potential merger’ will be fine though, if you’d really like to mention it. Just be mindful that it might not go through, so you don’t want it to seem like it’s your main motivation for joining the firm.

    It was a fantastic day - the partners, hr team, early careers are fantastic and I wouldn't have asked for a nicer day to assess me and those who were with me on the day. Its just a waiting game now, I did my best and there is nothing else I can do now but wait, pray and try to distract myself.
    I’m glad you enjoyed it! fingers crossed you get it🤞🏼

    I have just received a PFO from Bird & Bird -
    “Thank you for recently completing a video interview with Bird & Bird.

    We regret to inform you that, on this occasion, we are unable to progress your application.”

    The problem is that I have not completed, nor was I invited to complete, A VIDEO INTERVIEW! Is this supposed to be a rejection after the Watson Glaser or what is thisss🫠🫠🫠

    @Ram Sabaratnam @Jessica Booker
    My LLM transcript does not provide an overall average (it just lists my individual module grades and states that I have a distinction). However, Willkie's Vantage application portal requires me to state my "overall university average score/GPA". I have calculated my weighted average to be 74.5% - would it be appropriate to round this to 75% for the application?

    Thank you 😊

    @Jessica Booker for someone who hasn’t done a law firm vacation scheme before, how useful would it be mentioning the legal cheek winter vacation scheme in my future applications?
    It is definitely something to leverage in applications if you feel you have gained either skills, knowledge or motivations from the experience that is relevant to the firm you are applying to.

    If you can only put in a round number, then yes, it will be fine to round up to 75%.

    @Jessica Booker for Skadden’s application they ask:

    “If you had to choose a career apart from law, what would it be”

    For this question is it okay to pick a career that is vastly different from the role of a lawyer? I’ve always been interested in technology and would probably be a software engineer if I wasn’t pursuing a career in law. Would that be an acceptable answer or are they looking for a much more commercial profession like consulting or banking?

    Thanks for the help!
