On their website it says "Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in interviews and assessments" - there must either be an interview component, or an interview following the online assessment if you do well
Yeah I think it would be like an in person AC. 🙂

There might be a motivational and competency based interview and maybe a case study interview.

Guess we will find out when the time comes! 🥲

If you have been sent a test your app has been read
So does this mean there is a certain benchmark in order to progress to the interview stage? As I thought the first round was just SPAG, and not reading the actual substance of the application answers?

I was under the impression that people who received the test would have their answers re-read but this time under more scrutiny... hence my original question of is there a benchmark for this to happen or are the test results used in conjunction with the second round of application review if that makes sense 😅

Hi Jess and everyone, do you know if it reflects poorly on me as a candidate if I revoke my application to a firm? I recently received a vac scheme offer from one of my top choice firms and have since been invited to complete an assessment for a vac scheme with another. I won't have the time to do both schemes but I am just wondering if this is fine for me to do? @Jessica Booker

Where did you get that from? I was under the impression that they read the app, sent the test then would look holistically at your portal (i.e grades, experience, test scores) to send out interviews. I don't see why they would do a second reading given the amount of apps they probably already had to deal with.

with that being said there really is not a whole lot of info on PW in general. the TCLA firm directory itself simply says written app then AC which is obviously wrong

Haven't got a response from Paul, Weiss and feeling extremely disheartened. Poured my entire soul into that app, I've never written anything so good. And I checked grammar God knows how many times!
Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I attended their virtual open day where Paul heavily implied that the first stage is strictly a spelling/grammar check and those who pass it get sent the test. It is highly likely that they review applications one by one and send the test following every application review. I wouldn't worry about it just yet as I am sure they received plenty of applications and are just working on checking them all.

I wasn't saying this was the case, maybe I misunderstood! You're right, it would be hard to re-read applications again. And I agree, there is very little information about the assessment process. I remember in my Open Day, they hadn't even really decided what kind of test they wanted to implement (just that it was not WG style).

Sorry for any confusion!

Second this he mentioned it in the Dec open day. 🙂

They probably won’t even have a benchmark set since it’s everyone’s first time doing the test!
