One of the best pieces of advice that someone on this forum gave me last year was to do something to wake your mind up in the morning. I struggle in the mornings with tiredness for various reasons so this was particularly useful to me but it'd still apply. I chose to do a crossword puzzle for 10 mins in between getting ready which made me feel more awake and switched on, but it could be anything that would help with that! It just made me feel less groggy/foggy and more alert, ready for the day :)
Thanks a lot for your advice, that's very helpful, I'm not a morning person and I guess we don't have that buffer of getting into public transport anymore!!:)

Does anyone have any tips for curbing nerves the day before/on the morning of the AC? Feeling quite overwhelmed!
Two things-

1) Accept you're nervous- this is a big day, it's absolutely understandable to be nervous. It only adds more pressure on you if you keep trying to kill the nerves- they're there because you care about this and that's not necessarily a bad thing (in healthy amounts).

2) Do something fun- dance, watch a movie, eat something you love, engage in an activity you enjoy. Anything that lets you enjoy this massive achievement. This will also help turn nervousness into excitement and enthusiasm.

You've got this- I'm rooting for you!!! 👏 👏 👏

Hey, I had recently done a WG for bakers for summer scheme. But just got the email that I didn't sit for it and therefore they assume I'm not interested in continuing with my application.

I have emailed them back that I took it within the time. But feel so gutted, does that happen with candidates often? Do grad rec understand that there might be tech errors? @Jessica Booker
Hi @Jessica Booker please do let me know if you think this is something that grads see a lot of, or is it a one off problem that they are likely to ignore? Thanks

This will probably sound stupid, but I've just submitted my Burges Salmon app (deadline is at midnight so cut it a bit fine whoops) and I can't remember whether I applied for the Spring or Summer scheme. I've had a look on the app but does anyone know where I can find this?

    Always ‘yours sincerely’
I thought it depends on whether you know who you are addressing it to. So for example Dear (let's say) Emma, you would sign off with 'yours sincerely'. But To whom it may concern or Dear Graduate Recruitment, you would sign off with 'yours faithfully'. At least that is the rule I always use ....

Random but if I know the firms name and I’m sending them a cover letter is is yours sincerely or yours faithfully
It’s not that if you know the firm’s name, it’s more whether you are naming an individual by their name - eg Miss Jessica Booker. Then it’s “yours sincerely” if it is Dear Graduate Recruitment or Dear Sir/Madam, then it’s “yours faithfully”.

These things happen. They are likely to check whether it’s just a reporting error and if they can see your test score first and if not, they are most likely to just reset it and ask you to take it again.

Contact them ASAP to see what they say.

    This is correct!
