How confident are you in your knowledge of the core LLB/PGDL subjects, including Contract, Tort, Trusts, Land, Criminal, and Public Law?
TCLA is teaming up with BPP for a free interactive event designed to refresh your fundamentals, especially for those interested in or planning to take the SQE. We'll practise multiple choice SQE questions, with prizes for the highest scoring participants!
Register HereI only did the test a couple of weeks ago (waiting on interview invitations) - I assume this is the final batch of applications they are considering as part of the rolling application. Therefore, would guess is dependent on the outcome of your AC (as may not even be any vacancies left!). Did they say when you'd hear re AC outcome? When did you do the AC?
No, they said a few weeks but nothing specific! May drop them an email as I am eager to do my SQE2 and want to work out funding options!I only did the test a couple of weeks ago (waiting on interview invitations) - I assume this is the final batch of applications they are considering as part of the rolling application. I have not applied, still doing my research on them. Not sure if they are one of those firms that put out direct TC route but actually does not recruit from itHave you heard back from them?
I applied months ago and have heard nothing - it may be they’re non-rolling or perhaps they just don’t PFO people, who knows! Always worth a go if you have time to apply.I have not applied, still doing my research on them. If you went to a UK uni they tend to ask the uni direct, there is a system that gives them access to resultswhen firms do pre employment checks, do you send your transcripts to them or do they ask your uni directly? I have an admin issue with mine so didnt want it to look like i was lying
Yes - the website is in the process of being updated. The 2026 recruitment cycle will start in about 8-9 months time as the firm moves to a Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship model of training where you do the SQE during your training contract.Hi @Jessica Booker on the BDB Pitmans website it says BDB Pitmans has an application period open for TCs ending at end of July. Is this outdated info? It seems to be contrary to the information I received from the email nack in May.
They will usually go directly to your academic institute or when employment references, directly to the company to reduce the risk of reference fraud.when firms do pre employment checks, do you send your transcripts to them or do they ask your uni directly? I attended their open day and they do not recruit extensively from the direct TC route. I was told that it's more or less 80% from vac schemes and the remaining 20% from the direct TC route.Does anyone know if HFW has a healthy direct TC in-take?
ahh oh no - I have emailed to explain the issue I had and all i can do now is hope that they understand and appreciate I reached out well before this could even become an issue. scared i've unintentionally ruined my whole chance with that firm as i was doing really well with progressing through their stagesThey will usually go directly to your academic institute or when employment references, directly to the company to reduce the risk of reference fraud.
Do you mind if I ask when you completed the WG?Yes. I was invited to an interview today.
