Okay wow, I didn't get an email either! Just logged into the portal and also got a PFO post-WG (my only WG so far too )I had a PFO from RPC post WG, received it on Friday!
Received it in the mailbox section of their portal, it didn't come through via email for some reason.
How do you find out HL WG score??does anyone know if NRF tells us our WG score (irrespective of if we make it through or not) like hogan lovells or linklaters does?
Oh I'm sorry to hear this, but best of luck with future apps!HL pfo. On to the next I guess 🤷
They seem to run ACs throughout August at least, so I wouldn't worry too muchAnyone still waiting to hear from Macfarlanes? I applied a month prior to the deadline. I see that a lot of people have got replies after applying closer to the deadline - don't know what to make out of this.
i just emailed them asking for it! (this was for the vac scheme though idk if they do it differently for direct TCs)How do you find out HL WG score??
Applied 31 July and did the WG on 1 AugustOh I'm sorry to hear this, but best of luck with future apps!
If you don't mind me asking, when did you apply?

I don't think it automatically makes you more appealing - you could be an appealing candidate anyway without it.
However, it can show a commitment to a legal career at the same time.
It will depend on the firm as to whether your course gets funded if you have already started it of your own accord. Some firms pay back fees retrospectively whether you have started or completed the course. Others may pay a pro-rata amount for the time you have left on the course. Others will not pay back anything.
The interesting thing is that the GDL is no longer a requirement - its not like you have to do it anymore. Therefore to me it is a bit of a gamble just because it isn't necessary to complete it. For some firms, they won't put future trainees through the GDL, instead opting to just do an SQE prep course.
Congrats!
The structure is similar but the exercises themselves are tougher for the TC (eg the exercises are longer/about more challenging topics for the TC assessments)Does anyone have any advice for a Macfarlanes AC for a direct TC? Apart from being in-person and not having a group exercise it seems pretty similar to the VS ACs 🤔
Wooohooo!! Huge congratulations! 🎉🎉🎉Government Legal Department TC offer!! Can't believe it 😭😭😭
