Does anyone have any tips for applying for a TC to a firm you currently work at as a legal assistant/paralegal etc.? Especially for the "why firm" part - how would I leverage on my current experience at the firm, beyond just saying something vague like "everyone has been really nice to work with"?
I think it depends a lot on the firm a lot, but I would try to tie my work experience with the firm's unique selling points from a candidate perspective. As such, if for instance your firm has market leading expertise in a given practice are/sector, you can explain how assisting lawyers with matters in that field sparked your interest in it. If you want to connect your experiences to broader points about training and culture, you should mention specific instances in which specific people in the firm were particularly nice or helpful - this should make your reasoning more persuasive and distinguish it from those who are making that claim with no concrete experience to back it up.

Has anyone got any advice/experience of a case study for an in-house training contract?

I have been invited to complete a 5 hour written assessment for the BBC but there's very little guidance given/online?

I've seen people ask a few times but can't see any responses anywhere. I assume it will have a media law/privacy/civil perspective to the case study, but 5 hours seems like a long time for a virtual assessment!

for those doing the freshfields sjt, it's just like the links capp test. the only thing different is an attention to detail task (requires no prep but focus during the test - they will test ur grammar and spelling). no advice on how to approach the sjt questions since no one can be sure if they've answered correctly or not.

edit: there is a WG portion as well, but since links capp also has one, i didnt specify it above. the only thing diff is the attention to detail task, rest everything is like the links capp

Did they record for the freshfileds's sjt? I didn't get prompts to ask for my permission, but after I finished the test, my browser said camera and mic access were allowed 🤣
i dont think so. i have a green light next to my camera that glows if it's on. it didnt glow throughout the test
what is it video recorded, do we need to sit in formals?
