Apologies if this has been answered earlier, but does anyone know the general timeline for Mishcon? ie those who have done spring ACs already!

I have a VI for the summer scheme on Tuesday and was wondering how long it usually takes to give you your result and when the AC is if you end up having a successful VI?

My 2 theories:

They timed your response to the one with the error in. How long did you take to end up guessing?

They were testing resilience and how well you performed after that question or did it throw you off kilter 😭🤣

Maybe it was some sort of a test question where generative AI always gives the same answer?

Ropes & Gray PFO. For reference, I sent my application a few days before the deadline (28th - 31st Jan) and applied for both Spring and Summer Vacation Scheme 2025.

Nobody can convince me they don’t have a hidden minimum entry requirement of AAA and a 1st at undergrad. I lowkey thought my application was decent as well tbh. 🥲​

They definitely do. Also they did a presentation a couple of years ago at my uni (Top RG, non Oxbridge) and one of the partners mentioned they went to Birmingham for UG, he then said “But we don’t hire from there anymore do we”. Grad rec tried to hush it up by saying they look at everything holistically but a brief look at their future and current trainees shows that mantra is definitely true.

Grad rec trying to do damage control when it’s so much better to be honest and transparent about it. I went to a semi-top RG but I went there solely because it was the closest RG to where I live. I wasn’t in a financial position of moving really far from home. Of course I loved my uni and course but my options were quite limited. It’s sad that people with potential are immediately rejected because they didn’t go Oxbridge/LSE/Imperial. It’s minor though it’s their loss at the end of the day. 🥲🥲​

Spark is incredibly competitive, and while I’ve seen some TC offers been made to the current spark cohort- it seems that not everyone has been made offers.

You have every advantage in working on your application for the direct TC next year and I know that you will smash it.

If it helps, I know of people who were rejected from spark but went on to obtain direct TC offers the subsequent year.

The question said "we'd like to give bonuses if it doesn't cost more than 0.5% of revenue". subsequently, you need to calculate the cost of bonuses. For example if the cost was 5% of revenue, then the answer that read "we can't give bonuses, as it would cost 5% of revenue" is correct. the correct answer calculates the cost of the bonuses as a % of revenue, and then relates that to the question.

I agree, but the way the sentences were phrased didn't correlate to the correct answer eg- "it is exactly 0.5% so we can give bonuses" when in fact it's under or "it is way above 5% so we can't give bonuses" when the correct answer is that it is exactly 5%.

Although the action would be correct (can/can't give the bonus), the way the answer is phrased is incorrect.
