Yes - definitely not an issue to do this, just don’t take it personally if they don’t respond or feel like they can’t help. Sometimes people may not have the time or energy to advise people, but there is absolutely not issue in asking just in case they can.

What's a holding email?

An email saying they are still looking at applications and they are not getting back to the Direct TC applicants till later in the month. The holding email from CRS was for the direct TC applicants incase anyone was worried.

I am going to ask possibly the stupidest question to ever be posted here: what pronouns should you use when talking about a law firm? It feels natural to me to say they/their (I guess because I think of a firm as a collection of people?) but articles always seem to say it/its - also does it even matter as long as I'm consistent?

I am planning to do the Fladgate VI tomorrow and was wondering if anyone would be willing to share (I would be very grateful!) which type of question it was (motivation/competency/commercial). It's only one question so it's a bit of a hit or miss and I don't usually have great results with VI...

Planning to do it soon also so can't help re type of question but would prep a mix of comptency / what can you bring to the role type questions and why fladgate / area that we specialise in etc. Good luck!!!

It definitely won’t appear as negative. Potentially if you come across as pushy or wanting inside information that puts you at an advantage but chances are trainees have no insight at all into what the current questions are for the VI so they might not be able to offer a lot of advice maybe just more general tips!

Hi! I also applied for the spring vacation scheme at HSF, if I haven't heard anything from them is it safe to assume that it's a rejection? I know they've held a fair few AC's already.

I also applied for this scheme and they told me on friday there was no more spaces on the spring scheme unfortunately, but they offered to switch me to the summer scheme so they may do the same for you.

That's correct - it's just the SJT with its associated numerical reasoning and verbal reasoning components. It was very generic scenarios, not tailored to law at all.
Regarding the Browne Jacobson one - did you have unlimited time to do the 2 written questions? I was told they were like 500 words each!

Hey guys and @Jessica Booker

I am in position where I already accepted a training contract offer from one firm. I have an AC coming up for a vacation scheme - I know I wouldn’t go ahead with VS (it would require me to take holiday/negotiate with my employer which I’m not on best position to do especially that I now have secured tc).

I was initially planning to still do the interview for an experience itself, but now closer to the date (and following multiple cycles of applications) I think that I just have no more energy for another preparation.

Is it going to be perceived as rude to back out from a process few days before?
