Once you successfully complete a Watson Glaser assessment, we save your score for 2 recruitment cycles so there is no requirement to re-complete the test within this time frame. - This CC website, does this mean if you fail now, you will not be able to retake the test in next cycle?

Yes this is true. It’s why I went ballistic when I passed the WG for CC recently!

Given the circumstances it’s a huge impediment in the application process, so you’ll really have to nail it!

Also, at an event I went to at CC, the graduate recruitment women there implied that their WG does cut out a lot of people, so I imagine it has a pretty high benchmark

my understanding is that if you passed the test previously, you will not be required to re-take it for the next 2 cycles; however, if you had failed before, you need to take the WG again

In up to 600 words, please outline up to three significant challenges that you think all law firms will face over the next 5 years. You should draw on your current awareness and commercial awareness to answer this question.
Would breaking this down into subheadings be a good idea?

I don’t think you need subheadings. You can just tackle the three areas in different paragraphs.

I really hate scenario based VI questions. A practice one was:
"Your client sells garden furniture and is keen to expand outside of the UK. They ask you for some preliminary advice regarding their plans. How would you approach this task?"

I just said in essence, that I would:
- Ask them about their goals and objectives
- Find out which jurisdictions they plan to enter
- Do a PESTLE analysis to inform opportunities and threats as part of a SWOT analysis
- Weigh up the opportunities and risks to present to them along with any solutions

Bit in a more step by step and detailed way.

Am I missing something? I feel so flakey on situational interview questions.

If anybody can give any tips for Jones Day AC, I would be very grateful!! I'm going there tomorrow and feel very worried.
Research the firm's USPs pretty extensively. Talking abut non-rotational TC =/= enough. Everyone will have thought of that. Think about their capabilities. The firm is good at real estate. Use The Lawyer to look into them. Also Chambers & Partners. Legal 500 is excellent for client info.

Does anyone know if RPC VS is rolling?

Hey @GV . I just did some background research and saw the firm’s scheme was rolling in 2019-2021. The position for 2024/5 remains unclear, however. I recommend submitting an application as soon as you reasonably can and with good quality if you’re drawn to RPC. Good luck with the applications :)
