does anyone know what to make of sjts when u score lower on pillars? i excelled in both numerical and verbal but got 4447 for pillar so idk what to think of it? has anyone got similar results and still progressed?
Oh my god I hate SJTs. High for numerical and verbal intellect but then 6146....
Is this for Paul, Weiss SJT or another firm? If it’s Paul, Weiss I think most of us have a mixed set of scores. 🥲

I got the exact same haha, coping by telling myself this is such an unrealistic stupid test lmfao (failed every single sjt I've done lol)
Hahaha literally same

I'm just praying they don't have a cut-off and instead read all applications alongside the test results. Because lowkey if there is a cut-off I don't think we're making it with our 47% 😭 Actually think my application was strong as well and attended their open day in October fml

anyone applied for shoosmiths discover programme? what is the test like and is it automatic?
I believe it's automatic.

They have a link here:

The test consists of:

* one Watson-Glaser type test, untimed. Questions on: conclusion follows logically, assumption made or not, and strong/weak argument. Same questions used for other firms.
* themed SJT where the back story isn't particularly relevant. Consists of:
1. "rank your responses from best to worst" with five choices.
2. "I prefer to X vs Y" slider. Some of the X vs Y questions repeat.
3. In addition there is a rank on a scale of 1 to 7 how you are at certain skills.

At the link above they list their values as:

  • Critical Thinker
  • Adaptability
  • Growth mindset
  • Personal responsibility
  • Detail
  • Effective communicator
  • Credibility
  • Open Connector
Therefore in answering the question you'd want to focus on the answers that align with those, and avoid answers that contradict those.

Just received an NRF VI an hour ago, but the only available dates are tomorrow and the email says all interviews must happen before this Wednesday or your application is considered withdrawn?? Is this common practice lol

Also if anyone has insights that'd be great :)
No, the email says "all interviews must be completed by Wednesday 12 February", meaning next Wednesday not this one... Another person also got confused by this... I went on to book it early morning and they only had two days for me, but I went back to check now and most time slots are still available for this Wednesday as well as next Wednesday...
