I'm unsure how to answer these two questions and would be grateful for some insight please @Jessica Booker | 2000 character limit per question.
1) From your research, what have you learned about Fieldfisher?
- Should I pick 2-3 points (practice areas, training, etc. almost like a "why the firm" type question) > start each point with basic info e.g. "firm specialises in A,B,C" > then go into more specifics and evidence?
2) What interests you pursuing a career at Fieldfisher and why have you applied to take part in the Diversity Access Scheme?
- I feel this somewhat ties to the previous question and is basically a "why the firm" question?
1) Yes!
2) So this is different from the first question because this one as you to talk about what you like about the firm and why, unlike the first question which asks you to talk about what you have learnt about the firm (this can be more generic and does not need to be linked to you in any way). Definitely ensure that you answer why you are interested in applying to the Diversity Access Scheme as well - what makes you a good fit, what motivates you to apply etc.

can it depend on uni tho because obvs, a 2:1 of any kind at Oxbridge or Durham/Warwick/LSE with extra curriculars is generally considered a good achievement?
Tbf I've got a low 2.1 from Oxbridge, and tonnes of ECs including some high level sporting achievements, and I'm still concerned about the low 2.1. Honestly don't think Oxbridge adds much, if anything, to the grade :( But I'm now focussing on my strengths and it's yielding results.

nb. I should state that I'm only worried about the low 2.1 for firms who specify wanting a high 2.1. Even though some have encouraged me to apply after chatting, I think my time is best spent on firms who don't care if a 2.1 is strong or not.

Does anyone know Baker McKenzie's vac scheme questions from this application cycle?
1 Tell us about something - anything - that excites and inspires you.
2 Law firms are all different - tell us about three things, that you feel differentiate Baker McKenzie from other leading firms and encouraged you to apply?
3 Select three key skills that you believe are critical to the role of a commercial lawyer. How have you developed these skills?
:)
