If you don't mind sharing , when did you complete the WG and how many days did it take for them to invite you to AC post-WG? Been seeing a few people on this forum get a Freshfields AC with a quick turnaround after WG
I did my WG over a week ago and I still haven't heard back, so am starting to lose hope
Thank you so much, I'll have a look at the links and come back later if I have any follow up questions.Hi @Chloeccmw,
Huge huge congratulations. I am really pleased for you. I am still going through this thread, so it is possible this has already been answered.
As a start, definitely check out @Jacob Miller's articles. They are fantastic and are a must-read in my opinion. You will find a link to them under the "My approach" bullet below.
Here is a compilation of links that might be useful:
As I said, apologies if this has already been answered.
- My approach for preparing for interviews (with a compiled list of links for ACs in general!)
- Article-based interview preparation
- If you are asked about your biggest weakness
Do follow-up if you have any more questions!
Dechert, BCLP, Mayer Brown, Ropes & Gray.Probs a silly question but are there any firms with applications still open? I'm bad at researching 😂
Anyone who applied to Watson Farley & Williams for their spring or summer vacation scheme, have you heard anything?
Would you mind shining a bit of light on the Simmons' VI process? CheersJust got Latham VI! Lol hope i do better in this than the &%*£ show i did at Simmons' 😂 😂
Nope! they keep it really secret! i asked them for my WG score but they said no ...
Investment bankers just manage the financial side of the deal - how to fund it, how to raise money etc. Consultants would work on the business side of things such as, how to explain this deal to the public in the best possible way, what to do after deal is completed and companies need to come togetherquick question (i think) - what is the difference between the roles consultants play in M&A and investment banks?
Also, who else works in ALL M&A deals (apart from lawyers): buyers, sellers, lenders, accountants, PR, tax advisors, environmental experts, regulators, insurance companies...am i missing anything else. Apart from specific individuals that are case dependent e.g. if I were to acquire a restaurant I would want a health inspector to be involved TYIA
