What happens if you have multiple vac schemes that clash? Is there a system for this? Anyone have any experience? Thanks!

You just have to decline the ones you want the least.

You can ask whether you can be transferred to another scheme or a TC recruitment process, but to be fair to firms, if you are turning them down, they know that they aren’t your preference and so won’t feel like they have to go out of their way to accommodate you.

You can also ask whether you can attend part of the scheme, but if you do this, it will really need to be the first part rather than the latter for on-boarding purposes. However if a scheme is a week or less, it’s unlikely a firm will agree to that.

I am not sure whether here is the place to ask but I would appreciate any advice.
I am just struggling to calculate deadlines. I received an invitation at 9 am on the 27th of Oct and it says you have five days from tomorrow to complete the tests. I don't understand when exactly is the deadline. I thought that it could possibly be 23.59 on the 1st of November as I counted it like that: 28th (day 1), 29th (day 2), 30th (day 3), 31st (day 4), and 1st (day 5). :(:(:(

if it say 5 days from tomorrow then you have until 23,59 tonight to complete it

Has anyone heard back from the Baker McKenzie specialised open day application?
Also, has anyone done or know anything about the PwC application process, specifically the games-based assessment?
And I know many people have been asking about HL, but has anyone heard back post-WG?

    Hey guys,

I know everything gets posted in this thread at the moment, but after speaking with Alice and Jess and taking on feedback from you guys, I've created three new threads:
Going forward, if your post relates to any of the above topics, please post in that thread instead. Hopefully, this will help to make discussions more structured and a little less overwhelming for newcomers.

You can still use this thread for general discussion that doesn't fall inside the above topics.

    Thanks!

    Jaysen

If you know a firm has a 'tie-less “business casual” clothing policy' would you be able to attend an interview dressed this way?

Yes - although I suspect the general advice would be that the firm probably still wears ties for client meetings, and this has the same formality as a client meeting, and so you may want to wear one anyway.

I suspect your interviewer won’t even be in a collared shirt though.

I’m really keen to find out more about Covington and Burling. However they don’t have any open days and don’t seem to attend any virtual events/fairs.

Does anyone have any advice for generally networking with firms that have a smaller intake and don’t seem to market their TC?

I attended a session with them at AllAboutLaw’s career fair last week. I can type up and share my notes if you would like!
