Thanks, the 90s sounds like the best decade to have been looking for a training contract! :')
Definitely applying again, I went to a careers event and one first year trainee said they applied to the firm for 8 years before they got in! It's just tough to keep applying but we'll get there!
It's fine as long as you don't stand up 😂 🤣Probably a really stupid question but in a virtual AC is a shirt and tie ok or is a suit a must?
Pyjama pants and a smart top all day every day at the moment 😂It's fine as long as you don't stand up 😂 🤣
New definition of smart-casual.Pyjama pants and a smart top all day every day at the moment 😂
Written on parchment with a quill? That was a time of hand written applications that you sent in the post to firms. It wasn’t all fun and games 😂
Hahaha, brilliant.New definition of smart-casual.
Business on top, jammies downstairs
how did you manage this!So I rejected Reed Smith's rejection and I've just been invited to interview 😅👁👄👁
Hello, I think it’s the success profiles. I thought I did my competencies good in accordance with the profiles/job spec but I didn’t get through unfortunatelyOut of curiousity, is it based on the civil service values?
Right there with you, have nice top on, decorative scarf then scabby trackies and slippers...Hahaha, brilliant.
I feel like an impostor most days on video calls at work, I wear a nice blouse and bottoms with cats all over them. No one can ever find out 😂
Shirt and tie will be fine. You can always leave your jacket on the back of the chair or nearby if you think it is needed (e.g. if all the firm representatives are all suited and booted - which is unlikely).Probably a really stupid question but in a virtual AC is a shirt and tie ok or is a suit a must?
It wouldn't surprise me with some firms back in the day!Written on parchment with a quill?
They withdrew my application because they said the scheme was primarily targeted towards undergraduates! I uno-reverse carded them and justified that I could fill those two years with internships while working towards starting a training contract with them in 2023! I was actually inspired by everyone's actions on TCLA who also did the same! Thank you everyone!!how did you manage this!

I had to do this last year as an application for a mini-pupillage! Hand-written apps are still a thing at the Bar. Took me about 2 days and multiple attempts to get it neat enough. That was a time of hand written applications that you sent in the post to firms. It wasn’t all fun and games 😂
