Our assessment centre consists of five components: a written exercise, a small group task, a large group task, an oral presentation, and an interview.Guys guys, I'm just curious, does anyone know how long the assessment centre at Shoosmiths lasts? Like at what time does it start and when does it end?
Thank you! That's annoying cuz I just realised have a flight at 4pm on the same day😭. Not hoping for AC invite then. Our assessment centre consists of five components: a written exercise, a small group task, a large group task, an oral presentation, and an interview.
It’s gonna be half day - 5 to 6 hours I guess. Not sure about start and end time but should be around 10ish to 4-5ish including a lunch break or something
Hahahah, you could postpone your flight or reschedule it to a night flight same day if available, if you get an ac invite if that would be possible for you (it would hopefully be worth it)😂Thank you! Nothing from Ashurst as of yet. I think they're doing their VS.Has anyone heard anything from Hogan Lovells or Ashurst since yesterday?
Agreed what a complete joke.for anyone waiting on Blake Morgan, I sent a chaser email on Friday and heard back -
Many thanks for your interest in a Training Contract opportunity with Blake Morgan. Having reviewed our needs and approach to selection for future intakes, we have decided to only progress candidates to interview this year who have an interest in becoming a future Trainee within our Southampton office.
I don’t understand if firms think we have unlimited spare time in hand??? Why would you not mention this in the application details on your website to help us save our time and yours??? Funny part, I had to chase them and ask for an update, if I didn’t I would probably never know😂. It just really annoys me.
I understand that circumstances can change but this genuinely isn’t fair. For things like this, which are arguably foreseeable for a law firm, surely they should leave an ‘FYI’ of some sort on applications before people start applying??for anyone waiting on Blake Morgan, I sent a chaser email on Friday and heard back -

I think last year it was the last week of April. So still a bit to go.I'm so antsy to hear from Ashurst 😭
Not myself, they mentioned on my AC day that we would hear by May 5th and I got the sense it would be closer to that date than earlier on aha.Has anyone heard back from Mishcon post summer AC?
It has been a rough cycle. Only one telephone interview for me. All that after 30+ TC/VS apps. Still, open days can be helpful. Maybe try that if applying again. Then you’ve shown commitment to firms.Hogan Lovells rejection. This one stings a lot. Not made it past a single application stage this cycle 😭
That’s the thing, I’ve been to numerous open days with HL and I even did their lift off scheme last year. They really are my top firm 😔It has been a rough cycle. Only one telephone interview for me. There’s plenty more firms out there. Easy to get set on firms. But they’re more similar than different. You could always reapply to them. I felt this way for W&C.That’s the thing, I’ve been to numerous open days with HL and I even did their lift off scheme last year. They really are my top firm 😔
Applying to firms is a lot like dating - just because they laugh at your jokes and flirt with you and maybe even have one-night stands with you, doesn't mean they're invested. Maybe they just enjoy the attention you're giving them. Attraction ≠ Intention ≠ Investment. Don't invest in someone who won't invest in you. That’s the thing, I’ve been to numerous open days with HL and I even did their lift off scheme last year. They really are my top firm 😔
by the time one enters their third/fourth cycle, all firms become dream firms tbhThere’s plenty more firms out there. Easy to get set on firms. But they’re more similar than different. You could always reapply to them. I felt this way for W&C.
