Has anyone heard back from AG yet/received PFO emails within the past few weeks? I’ve only seen people receive AC invitations here and there but not rejection emails which is strange considering they told us we would hear back 10 weeks from the application deadline (which would be by the 17th March).

I haven't heard back (applied on the deadline day) but someone told me they've received an offer already (and their AC was in Jan) - at this point I'm assuming they've given out all ACs but I could be wrong. Lots of firms just prolong their mass PFOs for some reason

Is this Addleshaw? If yes, where did they say 17th March please? I’ve not heard anything since doing the VI early Jan but haven’t followed up as I do remember someone saying on the thread they received an automatic holding response

Don't think so, as this is the 3rd and last week of interviews with decisions by mid-March.

Assuming you haven't accepted a TC already there's nothing wrong with this - firms know people do multiple VSs and I've heard sometimes it makes you look more desirable when it comes to making TC offers as you're an in demand candidate. Though you don't have to post if you don't want to - some people don't post until they start.

This is such a personal preference thing. Lots of people do it, plenty don’t.

I don’t think it’s an issue to do so though - firms you have your VS with will find out you have the other offers anyway (as they are likely to ask you) and so it’s not like it needs to be kept a secret unless you want to for some reason.

I only applied to US firms and i was asked on 2 ACs why I didn't apply to any UK firms, so I would have a brief idea on what to say

Personally I have heard stories of firms retracting VS offers when candidates show preference for one firm over the other... don't do this. And if you are make sure the three firm logos are EXACTLY the same size, if they are off by a pixel, you can say goodbye to your VS - and perhaps the SRA might get involved too...

Why are direct TCs pointless? I know
So many people who got direct TCs?

The ones left open (mostly) are: the majority of direct TCs where you stand a good chance and are actually used to recruit through are the ones that already closed (eg magic circle, a handful of other British firms). The ones left do not hire significantly through direct TC (except macfarlanes really, who rejected me post VS AC last cycle)

Got that Ropes rejection later in the day. This is me done as realistically PW, K&L Gates and MoFo are going to be rejections at this point and the direct TCs left are pretty pointless applying for - need a career path other than being a lawyer I guess, if anyone has any helpful insight there then please let me know as I have no clue where my life is going now

Maybe throw an application at the big 4 (law or non-law) as they don't take long and have good training plus exit opps

I’ve just received email from PMC saying that they tried to call to notify the outcome of the AC. Is it possible that this is rejection if they tried to call me?

Doubt that's a rejection to be honest...
