Does anyone know whether Stephenson Harwood recruits on a rolling basis (i.e., does the firm make offers before the final deadline), or does the firm only review on a rolling basis but make final offer decisions after the deadline? I want to apply but the application deadline is next Friday so it’s very likely I won’t finish my application until mid next week (I’m half way through it at the moment).

i keep putting it off because the thought of writing 1800 words is actually draining

They review the applications as they come in (and rolling reject them) but don’t make any offers about ACs etc. before the deadline.

That’s at least what they said at the Open Day.

That’s literally what has been throwing me off because I’ve got the rest filled in (e.g., personal details, academics, work experience, rare recruitment data, etc.) but the thought of writing 1,800 words is actually draining. That’s basically an entire university essay. Just need to firm it at this point. 🥲

Hi! Please could I get your insights on this. I am applying for the spring VS at Stephenson Harwood. During their open day, the recruiter did mention they reject on a rolling basis. I don't know whether it's wort sending an application on the deadline 28/02 (I work full-time so haven't kept on top of sending applications in ASAP).

Or instead would it be better to apply for their direct TC since that deadline is later? Thanks :)

I finally got a post-application rejection from Linklaters at 14:48. So much for my 97th percentile Watson-Glaser score 😂

"However, this doesn't have to be the end of the road and we would encourage you to re-apply next year" bro/sis I ain't glazing you again 💅
I still didn't get a PFO but mine is inevitable, I unfortunately didn't have time to do the WG so did it randomly and I asked for my score and got 14% 😂 😂 😂

Lmao. At least you didn't try really hard on the WG like me and only get in the 32nd 🤡

EDIT: I also haven't got my PFO yet but can only assume it is coming, rip.

I’d still give it a go, especially if you could get the application in Monday/Tuesday rather than on Thursday.

"Tell us why you want to become a solicitor, and with reference to your experience so far, explain how your skills are suited to the role (600 words)"

Is it better to split my answer up into 2 parts (1. why solicitor and 2. why I'm suited to being a trainee at SH) or answer both points in a more integrated way?

Hi @Jessica Booker, I had a slight doubt about an upcoming VI. If in case I’m asked same/similar questions as the application form, do I need bring up new points or elaborate on the points already mentioned in my application. For instance, if I’m asked “why X firm” in the VI, I see how I can bring up points not mentioned in my application. But how would I go about it for questions like “why commercial law” while avoiding repetition?
