Looking for some advice from people who have previously applied for direct TC’s in past cycles! For firms that offer VS route and TC route even if they have similar deadlines I am assuming those who applied for the TC wait a lot longer to hear back as most firms fill up VS first and then once that is done do they begin to assess those who applied for direct?

I can assume the specific firm may change the answer but just as a general idea for me thanks!

it seems some applying to Guildford office did on Friday but I don't think anyone else has heard anything - I haven't, anyway

Do you know if this means HL summer vacation schemers have less of a chance of getting a TC ?

No. First, they limit the number of WVS/DTC offers. Second, head of graduate recruitment told me that they are flexible as to which cohort they put people into. So if they really want you, they'll just give you or others a late offer

Trust me, no rigid timeline. Never assume PFO with them because they also send rolling PFOs, so if they don't want you they'll let you know

I’ve still not even received the WG invite for them (applied in November). I emailed them to check and they confirmed I would be receiving… just no idea when!

Annoying because they’re one of my top choices!

does this PFO mean that we didnt clear the SJT or that they reviewed application post clearing SJT? im guessing its the former given the less timeframe they have taken to get back

Freshfields PFO - feeling very hopeless right now as I put so much effort into my apps but they never get looked at because I can't seem to pass any SJTs and I struggle equally as much with the WG despite putting in so many hours of practice. Part of me feels like it's because of my autism, but I never know what adjustments firms can offer/implement. Maybe corporate law isn't for me, feeling like it's never gonna happen

CMS Manchester rejection post VI, a bit gutted about this one😕 I was extremely happy as all the questions I could have hoped for came up but I had to complete the VI around the time of an anniversary of an extremely traumatic personal incident and nerves for the better of me, had a very visible stress rash on me by the end of it, oh well 🫡
