Probably doesn't matter but if there are 2 AC slots, one from 9am to 1pm and one from 2pm to 5:30pm, is there any benefit to picking either one over the other?
No difference at all if they are on the same day. Go with the time that works best for you. I am not a morning person, so I would choose the afternoon but some people find the opposite and prefer doing these things first!

Stop giving such terrible advice mate! You said the same thing about Kirkland and you were compltely mistaken. Firms have a deadline for a reason, if your application is good enough then you will progress, firms are looking for the best talent not those who can apply earliest!
There are of course some firms that it’s much better to apply early- and some are honest and say they don’t necessarily read every application (Bird & Bird, Simmons & Simmons).

BUT I keep hearing of people who get ACs who applied on deadline day, for even top firms. So I agree with generally worth applying!

Yeah I ended up booking the afternoon just to guarantee I'll get there with ample time to spare (as someone who went to uni in London I remember leaving at 6/7 for a 9am and still getting stuck on the Central line due to a signal fault for 45+ minutes, getting tired of waiting, getting off and walking to uni and arriving sweaty 😭 ) and have got all potential nerves out the way. Thanks Jessica!

To be fair, I was specifically referring to Gibson. I attended their first-year insight scheme last year, so what I’m saying comes directly from what they told us. They were very clear that the later you apply, the lower your chances of progressing because most VIs are sent early on. In fact, they started sending VIs last month. At this point, it’s not just about how talented you are—it’s about limited spots and the intense competition for what’s left.

If you’re a penultimate-year student, it might actually be smarter to wait and apply next year. By applying now, at such a competitive stage, and potentially being rejected, you risk being asked in the future if you’ve applied before, which may potentially hinder your progression... Again, I am only going by what the grad team said; yet again, we can all have diverging opinions on this matter. Some progress even if they apply to a rolling firm at the deadline, I agree, but when specifically talking about Gibson, the grad team literally told us this... Best of luck anyway!

Any advice on how to answer these questions for? :
1. If you could invent a new product or technology that does not currently exist, what would it be and why? (250 max)
2. Please declare if you have used Artificial Intelligence in your application, and if so, how this has been employed? (100 max)(this is for Covington and I have used grammarly but I don't know if that counts)

Thank you!
