Just checking, has anyone heard from DACB yet? Or Shoosmiths?
Hey, I recently applied to Browne Jacobson and was under the impression that applications are non-rolling. The email I received after submitting also said "Please note however, that all applications for a Training Contract and Summer Vacation Scheme will be reviewed after the relevant closing date when we will contact you again."Just submitted an application for Browne Jacobson and the email says the following:
"If over the next few weeks you don't hear from us again, then regrettably we will not be taking your application forward on this occasion."
How much time is 'next few weeks'? 2-3?
Shoosmiths posted on their Instagram yesterday that they are still screening vac scheme applicants (post online assessment), and will let us know near the end of the month.Just checking, has anyone heard from DACB yet? Or Shoosmiths?
Hey, which office did you apply to? I'm waiting on Shoosmiths tooShoosmiths posted on their Instagram yesterday that they are still screening vac scheme applicants (post online assessment), and will let us know near the end of the month.
Yeah, it is non-rolling. I think what they mean by the 'next few weeks' part of the email is that they won't be contacting us if we've been rejected - that's why I was asking how much time is 'next few weeks'Hey, I recently applied to Browne Jacobson and was under the impression that applications are non-rolling. I think the first part of their mail does not apply to Vac Scheme/ TC applicants, but I may be wrong!
I applied for Manchester, hbu?Hey, which office did you apply to? I'm waiting on Shoosmiths too
Not sure if anyone’s replied to this but yes, conversation course first then SQE exams afterQuestion on the back of this - as a non law student I would need to do some form of a conversion course so I would start this in September 2023 and then do the SQE in 2024 right? Just want to triple check this!
did you complete the tests aswell?Has anyone ever interviewed for a paralegal role with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett?
PLEASE PM ME - I have it at the end of this week!
@Jessica Booker - would you have any advice on prep / what to expect? Never interviewed for such a role.
Hey! If it makes you feel any better, I haven't heard at all post-app either. I was told by email (6th of March) that they are still reviewing applications and do not have a specific timeline with regards to reviewing applications, so I am hopeful that they're still sifting through applications.Has anyone else just not heard from W&C post-app? I’ve seen lots of VIs, and some rejections post-app. I know that they’re generally quite slow; does this mean that they genuinely consider everyone’s application?
That’s really helpful to know - thanks!Hey! If it makes you feel any better, I haven't heard at all post-app either. Thank you - I thought as much but just wanted to double check in case I had missed something with the SQE!Not sure if anyone’s replied to this but yes, conversation course first then SQE exams after
I applied on October 16th (first preference was Winter) and still haven't heard back!Has anyone else just not heard from W&C post-app? I’ve seen lots of VIs, and some rejections post-app. I know that they’re generally quite slow; does this mean that they genuinely consider everyone’s application?
I would look at the job description carefully as the questions are more likely to be aligned to what they are specifically looking for in that individual role.Has anyone ever interviewed for a paralegal role with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett?
