There are many videos on youtube on how to convert a VS to a TC and if I'm not wrong, TCLA also has resources for it too for paid members.Any advice on how to secure a training contract from a vacation scheme? I have a VS in June, don't know what I can be doing right now to prepare for it.
This probably means I'm expecting a PFO lol thank you for your helpHope this is helpful - I was invited to an AC for the 22nd of Feb on the 9th of Feb. They said they are running ACs on the 20th, 22nd, 27th, and 1st of March (virtual).
Sorry - I meant I got an AC for another firm even after a mistake. Was just saying generally its not an automatic PFO.Oh I see, thanks for sharing! Do you mind if I ask how long it took for you to hear back post-written test?
okie thanks! the wait's going to be painfully slow for this one... 🙃Hi, it took about 2 weeks for me
Very much doubt it - it’s not about perfection, it’s more about how much you did pick up (rather than just what you missed).Hi all, I just completed an written exercise and I spotted a couple minor typos after submitting... Is this an instant PFO or should I still hold out hope?
Btw, this is for Dechert. They also require a VI as part of their first stage of screening post-app, which I thought I did decently well in.
Also, those who progressed to AC, would you mind letting me know how long it took for Dechert to get back post-VI and written exercise?
Thanks so much!
Thanks so much, Jessica! Very glad to have that reassuranceVery much doubt it - it’s not about perfection, it’s more about how much you did pick up (rather than just what you missed).
Congratulations!! If this is for summer, may I ask when you applied?Hi guys - does anybody have any advice for the W&C VI? Having fair trouble with these after feeling like I messed up the Latham and BM VIs. Feel free to PM!
There is some useful content here:Any advice on how to secure a training contract from a vacation scheme? I have a VS in June, don't know what I can be doing right now to prepare for it.
I’d avoid anything unrealistic (for most people, 5 years is only about the qualification stage), and anything too defined “I want to be an international arbitration lawyer working in the US” and focus more on how you would measure success beyond titles/salaries etc. for instance, what types of responsbilities would you like, what kind of skill set or knowledge would you like to have?Hi @Jessica Booker , do you have any advice re how to answer "Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?"? Is there anything that you should focus on/avoid? Thanks
That’s really useful - thanks!I’d avoid anything unrealistic (for most people, 5 years is only about the qualification stage), and anything too defined “I want to be an international arbitration lawyer working in the US” and focus more on how you would measure success beyond titles/salaries etc. for instance, what types of responsbilities would you like, what kind of skill set or knowledge would you like to have?
