I don’t think we will hear back from Baker McKenzie until after the 1st December! Spoke to a member of GR recently and she said they review all applications after the deadline. Hope that helpsHave people heard back yet.
PFO from CMS.
Taking it as a sign that I need to practice Watson Glaser tests a bit more. I've scored highly on them in the past but need to improve consistency. Anyone have any recommended methods?
Yeah, practice makes perfect. From a few practice tests, it's the "recognizing assumptions" part that I tend to score lowest on, so time to get to work.I was exactly like this last year. My inconsistency has since improved because I did so many practice tests and read so many guides. I would definitely search the web for some "cheat sheets" (or make one yourself!) that digests each WG section like a rulebook. It helped me understand the difference between deductions and interpretations and whether an inference is "true" or "probably true". Best of luck you'll improve in no time
Congratulations!!Just got an offer for the Clyde & Co winter vac scheme!!
It’s more about showing development in those areas or explaining why the firm you are applying to might not worry so much about that particular aspect (eg if you have been told you didn’t show enough interest in their practice areas, and the firm you are applying to has different ones). It sounds brutal, but the flaw has already been exposed (that’s why they ask the question) - they just want to see how you move on from it.If asked why you were unsuccessful in converting your vac scheme to a TC, what should the response? Ofc don't want to expose my flaws 🙃
@PirateShip - I second this entirely too! Also when doing practice tests like on the Clifford Chance website etc where it gives you your score breakdown for each section and you can target your weaker sections. Making my own cheat sheet and teaching myself what to look for/how to look at the questions in each section really helped meI was exactly like this last year. Jeez..what do tests include?Gosh, I forgot how draining doing the Mayer Brown tests were. Nearly took me 2 full hours to complete it all 😭
Did you guys read the Linkedin Post published by the CC GRM? It scares me that it takes less than a minute to bin a vs/tc app!
