i just got an interview invite 2 hours after submitting my application so i presumed they must be!

@Jessica Booker I was just wondering your advice on how long you normally have to wait for a response post-AC? Tomorrow will be 2 weeks and I'm just wondering if that's about right or if I should follow up with the firm?

I would say it is usually within two weeks. I'd wait until either Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning before contacting them though (rather than tomorrow).

Can I ask what structure you used for the cover letter if you don't mind. I went for 100 commercial law, 400 why Gibson and the rest for extra curriculum activities.

I did 100 why commercial law, 150 why gibson and the rest was why me / extra curricular activies and achievements

That just means they really liked your application! I'm one of their vac schemers this year, and I didn't get my round one invite for three months post-application.

I think that this is a great strategy, the firm knows what they do and they want to know what you can bring to the table!

My friend was invited to the AC a week ago and they told her it was the last one.. I also remember they had some trouble sending rejection emails. Last cycle I got rejected but never received an email (not in spam either) :/

Would this be the same for the Dubai office? Because deadline for that is 4th of Feb.

Hi Jessica,

I am in the same position as the previous commentator. It has been two weeks today for me post written task [final stage]. The firm replied to me very quickly after interview (on the same day), but have now taken 2 weeks post completing the task. In the email confirming receipt, they said they would get back to me in 'due course'.

Would you recommend emailing them, or just sitting tight? Surely if they were going to accept/reject me, me sending an email wouldn't impact this.

How would you advise phrasing the email?

I personally did about 200 on Gibson Dunn, about 125 on why commercial law, and most of the balance on covering any interests, positions of responsibility and non-academic achivements.

Be prepared to be grilled on any 2.2 module grades if you had any modules that you did not get a first or not a 2.1 in.
