If you don’t have your heart set on a particular seat already, I’d say try to make sure you do a transactional seat and a contentious seat so you get a taste of both!Does anyone have any guidance for choosing a VS seat?
Hey Guest, do you have a question for graduate recruitment? Gemma Baker from Willkie is live to answer your questions!

@thirdtimelucky Advisory seats are also worth considering! (I did two advisory seats because I plan to qualify into one of them). I’d also seriously consider any seats which the firm has a particular strength in or which are mandatory during the TC, as it might help you when deciding between TC offers as it will give you a better idea of what seats you’ll do during your TC.If you don’t have your heart set on a particular seat already, I’d say try to make sure you do a transactional seat and a contentious seat so you get a taste of both!
Absolutely yes!Hi all, looking for some advice please… 🙌🏼
I applied for the Samsung Graduate Paralegal role and did the tests and VI. I’ve just heard I’ve just been offered an AC for the Graduate Data Privacy Advisor role instead. I am interested in potentially specialising in data protection/privacy law when becoming a solicitor (despite my username on here lol) so looks like it would give me relevant experience. But as it is not strictly within the legal team (it’s in the Business Services team), would this come across as a good experience with future TC apps? It’s also a two year programme so I’m unsure.
Please let me know your thoughts! TIA x
They sent an email saying they would get back to all candidates by 9 MarchDoes anyone know what’s going on with Mishcon? Are all the AC’s over?? Don’t want to give up hope, but also want to be put out of my misery lol
Yep, nothing post-app but my portal was updated on the 25th Jan lolOther ppl out there still waiting for Freshfields post app for direct TC? (Portal still hasn't even been updated)
Exact same for meYep, nothing post-app but my portal was updated on the 25th Jan lol
Same question here - did my AC in mid january, and now I have another AC at the very beginning of March. I'd withdraw from the latter if I received an offer from the former. Have emailed but didn't get a response.Wanted to ask if it is appropriate to rush and ask for an outcome to an AC I attended on Feb 9th? Have a couple of ACs scheduled for next week and I don't want to spend hours preparing + taking up an AC space just to potentially withdraw. Thanks!
@Jessica Booker
Fine if you are accepting the offer - really odd to do it if you aren’t (which I have seen and I don’t think is in great taste personally).Purely out of curiosity, what are people thoughts on posting about a Vacation Scheme offer on LinkedIn? Is it a good thing to do, are there any negatives or is it ultimately personal choice?
I’m seeing a lot of posts pop up on my feed, hence the question.
This won’t be a fixed figure. Ultimately a firm like HSF would just offer fewer people if they didn’t impress the firm and would do more direct TC hiring or find other schemes to convert people.Does anyone have an idea of the conversation rate from HSF VS to TC offers? @George Maxwell
I won’t be appropriate to rush and ask for an outcome, but it is appropriate to ask if you can have an outcome - it’s a subtle difference but a big one.Wanted to ask if it is appropriate to rush and ask for an outcome to an AC I attended on Feb 9th? Thanks a lot Jessica!This won’t be a fixed figure. Ultimately a firm like HSF would just offer fewer people if they didn’t impress the firm and would do more direct TC hiring or find other schemes to convert people.
Factoring in that people won’t always accept the offer too means any conversion figure is also skewed by the declines of offers too though.
