Hi Jessica,

I am due to accept an offer for a place at the University of Law. The offer is for a origramne in SQE1&2 LLM PART TIME. please anyone able to explain to me the exam dates on the website because they make no sense to me at all.

As a partime student I start my course in January 2025 and write my SQE1 in July 2025. This is the same amount of time given for a full time student that started their course in September 2024 ans is writing their exams in January 2025. I cant seem to don't understand why I am getting the same amount of time ti oreoare for the exams as someone who is a full time student. I have tried calling and messaging the university a number of times and I have gotten no where in trying to find a response to this question.

I suspect this is a mistake - I know it can be frustrating if you are not getting a response from the university, but I would persevere with contacting them to get clarity on this.

After a slightly rocky few years, I'll be graduating from university next summer. I'll likely be graduating without a TC or VS, and so I recognise that I need to start planning sooner rather than later for what steps I should take after graduation (be it some form of the SQE, or instead looking for work as a paralegal, or something similar).

I've got quite a few questions that I'd like to ask over the next few days/weeks, but I recognise that you've got a lot of work on your plate with the TCLA, and that it'd be unreasonable to expect you to respond to every single question from every single user on the forum - would it help at all (in terms of getting answers to my queries, whether from you guys, or from another expert on the TCLA's team) if I signed up to one of the TCLA Premium schemes (and if so, would it make any difference if I signed up for Gold membership)?

There are a few options here.

You can just ask in the forums (if you are comfortable in doing so) and the community team will respond with their thoughts.

If you wanted an hour's 1-2-1 call, you could book a mock interview and just select the "general chat" option, Mock interviews are between £70-90 + VAT, depending on who you book with.

A monthly gold subscription would be the alternative. If you paid for a month's subscription, you would get a 15 minute 1-2-1 call included, as well as an application review, along with access to all our on demand courses and premium content. This is £60 a month + VAT, so often people choose this over individual services. Application reviews and 1-2-1 calls renew on the 1st of each calendar month, so you could utilise two of these if you signed up for a month but your subscription carried across two calendar months (e.g. 15 December - 14 January).
