mayer brown AC too! (TI was in early jan) thing is i cant make their vac scheme anymore due to uni, do you think they would allow me to change my application to direct TC?

Hey guys! I did my Mayer Brown phone interview in December and I haven't heard back yet, however I was Direct TC. Were all these Acs for VS or have Direct TC people heard back too?

Well I have seen a couple of people from other offices (e.g. Leeds, Scotland) but I haven't seen anybody who applied to Manchester say they have been contacted yet.

I haven't heard of anyone receive a reply yet for Scotland. Where have you seen this?

Does anyone know if the partner interview in the Macfarlanes AC involves a case study element?

Very brief in-tray exercise. Small contract to read and then interpret what the client can and can't do and what further information is necessary.

Hi! I just received a rejection from Akin Gump saying that my application was read with interest but they are not able to offer any further interview for the summer vacation scheme. They also said that if I decide to apply for a Direct TC my application will be given early consideration. I was wondering if this is just the standard (but very nice) rejection or if I should actually be encouraged to apply for a Direct TC.

This does seem an encouraging rejection, at least. I got "Unfortunately the result of your critical thinking assessment did not reach our minimum requirement to take forward to interview. Due to the volume of applications we receive unfortunately we are unable to offer any individual feedback."

Perhaps you passed the WG but they genuinely ran out of spaces? I remember this exact same issue happening last year, they fill up spaces very quickly.

I am still waiting to hear back from Orrick for the 2022 direct TC intake and they are reviewing them over the next month.. no idea what they do with the current apps
